India’s merchandise exports jumped 19.63% year-on-year to $44.24 billion in July, led by strong growth in petroleum products, electronics, engineering and marine goods. However, higher imports pushed the trade deficit to a six-month high of $31.98 billion, highlighting India’s rising manufacturing strength alongside continued dependence on imported energy and industrial inputs.
