China's Guizhou province hit by severe flooding: Emergency response underway

Heavy rain struck China's southwestern Rongjiang province again on Saturday. The new wave of flooding has prompted authorities in Rongjiang counties, which is southwest China's Guizhou province, to escalate its flood emergency response to the highest level as rising waters threaten local communities and force evacuations. While located at the confluence of three rivers, Rongjiang is already inundated earlier this week by torrential rains, but a large swath of its urban area was submerged again by flood water on Saturday.
