At least 67 have been killed in torrential rains in Karnataka, IMD issues red alert in north east
Heavy monsoon rains have caused widespread flooding in Karnataka, resulting in at least 67 deaths and affecting thousands of families. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in the north-eastern regions, warning of further heavy rainfall. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced compensation of Rs. 1.25 lakhs for affected families.
