After troop removal demand, Maldives ends hydrology pact with India
In a significant diplomatic shift, the Maldives, led by its new president mohamed muizzu, has decided not to renew the hydrographic survey agreement with india. This comes merely a month after urging india to withdraw its military personnel from the region. The now-shelved survey is a cooperation between the Indian Navy and Maldives national defence force in the field of hydrology.
