<p>When told to go back and sit on the seat, the passenger ran from the attendant and went straight to the plane's emergency exit doors. Before any of the attendants could stop him, the passenger opened the emergency gate by turning the latch, activating the plane's emergency slide in the process.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The plane was immediately stopped by the pilots as the man jumped onto the back of a baggage cart.&nbsp;The Delta staff initially nabbed the passenger before handing him over to the LAX Police.</p>

<p>The Mississippi tornado continues to expand its radius of destruction in the United States as extreme weather conditions continue to symbolise the threat from climate change. The destruction's forecast was caught in an emotional outburst of a meteorologist who was working on the geographical coordinates of the tornado that has been wreaking havoc in south Mississippi.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A WTVA meteorologist, upon realising the scale of the damage from the tornado, became emotional and prayed to god for help.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In a video which is now going viral on social media, the meteorologist Matt Laubhan can be seen tracking the movement of the tornado in the video. As he realises that the tornado will directly hit the town of Amory, he just bends down to exclaim&nbsp;"Oh man", to let out&nbsp;a heavy sigh.</p>

<p>"Dear Jesus, please help them. Amen," Laubhan said after a pause.</p>

At the same time, 70 per cent Indians said that they find cricket matches as a helpful parameter to learn about someone’s interest and passion in the sport. About 63 per cent Indians believe they get to know someone’s personality by how they react to a win or a loss.</p>

<p>The report indicates that cricket decides fate of a date for a significant number of Indians. The report said that 5 per cent of Indians actively seek a romantic ally who enjoys sports. Once they know that a prospective romantic ally has an interest in sports, they go forward to explore a connection with them.</p>

<h2><strong>Cricket brings dating couples together: Report</strong></h2>

<p>The report further added that for about 44 per cent of the individuals in a dating scenario, one liked cricket and the other didn’t. In that case, the latter compromised and they watched it together. While 41 per cent said they spent a lot of time apart.</p>

<p>Further, 32 per cent pointed out that they grew to love it.</p>

The American Library Association (ALA) released the damning report on Thursday stating more than 1,200 challenges were raised to ban books which was nearly double the figure achieved in 2021.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The outrage regarding the political discourse had translated into books and literature feeling the heat of it. ALA, which started record keeping of the challenges 20 years ago stated that while most requests earlier used to be raised by parents and community members to remove a particular book, the trend had changed significantly.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The report noted that influential conservative groups were batting for the removal of multiple books nowadays. Most books containing LGBTQIA themes or racial undertones were targetted in the censorship drive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The man in question, known only as Mike, was at the Changthai Thappraya Safari and Adventure Park when his friends dared him to bungee jump. While he didn't intend to do it initially, he took up the challenge. Mike then took a swan dive off a 10-storey-high podium. But the cord snapped just milliseconds before the endpoint of the jump, sending him plunging into the water.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Describing the ordeal to CNN, Mike said that most of his injuries were on the left side of his body since he landed on that side.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The park staff got him out of the water and the amount he had paid for the jump was returned.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The park, which offers more such adventure activities, such as ziplining and live-round shooting, also paid for his x-rays and ultrasound scans. Nithit Intim, the founder of the park, told CNN that they did everything they could to help Mike. They paid all his medical bills and are willing to pay for other treatments back home in Hong Kong.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mike had also signed a liability waiver and was explained that the park will pay medical bills but can't be asked for any compensation in case of a mishap, Intim said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Notably, Garza had been lodged in prison since December last year on charges of contempt of court, probation violations and failure to appear. Meanwhile, Nemo had a big roster of charges ranging from forgery, possession of burglary tools, and credit card larceny to contempt of court and a probation violation.&nbsp;</p>

But its plans were scatted by the pandemic when local pizzerias took over by delivering in-person during the shutdown, CNBC reported.</p>

<p>It arrived in 2015 when it already had some 12,000 stores across the world.</p>

<p>Last year, it cited a significant increase in competition levels as the reason for its poor performance and earnings.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Following its exit, netizens on Twitter cheered, while making fun of it for even attempting to establish a foothold in the "homeland of pizza."</p>

<p>Tesla's gameplan came into force last October. Tesla, a dominant player in the Chinese market, manufactures its cars at its factory in Shanghai. The initial price cut in October was followed by another round which made Tesla's locally manufactured cars 14 per cent cheaper than they were last year. In some cases, the cars were 50 per cent cheaper than their price in the US and Europe.</p>

<p>Tesla's aggressive pricing strategy forced other carmakers to reduce prices of their models. Both, local and global brands have got drawn into the price war. These include Xpeng, Nio Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz to name a few.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mercedes Benz has offered a discount of up to 70,000 yuan (USD 10,000). Ford Motor Company has brought down the price of its Mach-E electric sport utility vehicle to 209,000 yuan. This makes it cheaper by about a third than it is in the US.</p>

<p>“Tesla created havoc for the rest of the market,” said Jochen Siebert, managing director of JSC Automotive, a consultancy with offices in Shanghai and Stuttgart.<br />

<p>Scientists have studied and sequenced the DNA of legendary music composer Ludwig van Beethoven from perfectly preserved locks of his hair and come up with startling revelations. The study, published Wednesday in the journal Current Biology, revealed several secrets about his health ailments and even his family history.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Our primary goal was to shed light on Beethoven's health problems, which famously include progressive hearing loss, beginning in his mid-to late-20s and eventually leading to him being functionally deaf by 1818," said study coauthor Johannes Krause.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Five hair samples helped scientists understand Beethoven's family history and his chronic health problems and even what led to his death at the age of 56.</p>

<p>Beethoven suffered from hearing loss, gastrointestinal issues and severe liver disease. He wrote a letter to his brothers in 1802, expressing his wish that his doctor study and share the nature of his "illness" after his death. This letter is popularly known as Heiligenstadt Testament. But Beethoven's doctor died 18 years before him.&nbsp;In the letter, he talks about his struggle with hearing loss and how his work is what stopped him from committing suicide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In order to understand Beethoven's health conditions, medical biographers went through Beethoven's letters, diaries, autopsy, notes from his physicians, and notes taken during the time his body was exhumed twice in 1863 and 1888.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But the latest study took samples of his hair that were cut in the seven years until his death. "We were unable to find a definitive cause for Beethoven's deafness or gastrointestinal problems," Krause said.</p>

<p>Krause said that they did discover a number of significant genetic risk factors for liver disease. "We also found evidence of infection with hepatitis B virus in at the latest the months before the composer's final illness. Those likely contributed to his death."</p>

<p>Researchers also ruled out other potential causes of his ailments, such as celiac disease, lactose intolerance and irritable bowel syndrome. Letters written by Beethoven and his friends tell that he used to drink at least a litre of wine with lunch each day.</p>

<p>"If his alcohol consumption was sufficiently heavy over a long enough period of time, the interaction with his genetic risk factors presents one possible explanation for his cirrhosis," said lead study author Tristan Begg, PhD student at the University of Cambridge.</p>

<p>Beethoven's genetic profile was compared with the DNA of his living relatives in Belgium, but a complete match couldn't be established. The study showed that some of the relatives shared a paternal ancestor through Beethoven's family around the late 1500s and early 1600s. But, there was no match for the Y-chromosome. Researchers say that this means that an extramarital affair on Beethoven's father's side led to the birth of a child.</p>

<p>Marius Theodore Gustavson, 45, the lynchpin, originally hailing from Norway was arrested on Wednesday in London. Gustavson's gang reportedly operated in London, Scotland and South Wales. <p>Mintz said a deed showed that the book was sold in 1000 AD, adding the codex was then held in a synagogue in what is now northeastern Syria until around 1400. "The manuscript then disappears for about 500 years, and re-emerges in 1929 when it was offered for sale to David Solomon Sassoon, one of the greatest collectors of Hebrew manuscripts," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A mysterious and deadly fungal infection called Candida auris is spreading its tentacles across the USA at a rapid speed, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tracking the fungus informed. The development comes on the heels of the World Health Organization last year listing C auris as one of 19 fungal priority pathogens.</p>

<p>The multidrug-resistant yeast was first identified in Japan 15 years ago. It has infected as many as 2,377 people in the US in 2022, according to the Wall Street Journal. New research by the CDC published in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that in 2021, the health centres in the country reported a 95 per cent increase in cases between 2019 and 2021. For comparison, the fungus had only infected 53 people in the US in 2016.</p>

<p>Additionally, a total of 28 states and the District of Columbia have confirmed reporting the infections - suggesting the current safety measures were not effectively helping tackle the fungus.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Both WHO and CDC have labelled the fungus as a growing threat to public health as it has&nbsp;a mortality rate of up to 60 per cent. People who are old or have compromised immune systems are particularly more vulnerable after contracting the fungus.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not only does this yeast cause serious illness in patients but it is also hard to identify without the proper tests.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Specialised laboratory methods are needed to accurately identify C. auris. Conventional laboratory techniques could lead to misidentification and inappropriate management, making it difficult to control the spread of C. auris in healthcare settings," said CDC in a circular.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A 2022 study stated that the fungus had spread to more than 30 countries since its first sighting in 2009.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The reported interregional spread as well as regional endemicity in one country show that&nbsp;<em>C. auris</em>&nbsp;is in the process of establishing itself as a healthcare-associated pathogen in the EU/EEA, similar to other countries such as the United States," read the report.&nbsp;</p>

The crew, which had decent boating experience quickly sprung into action and gathered food, fresh water, emergency equipment and other gear. They had food and water to last them at least three weeks if it came to the worst-case scenario.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Afterwards, they launched a lifeboat alongside a dinghy and jumped into the water. Prior to taking asylum in the lifeboat, Rodriguez placed a mayday call on a VHF radio. According to Rodriguez, the boat sank completely&nbsp;within 15 minutes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The crew spent 10 hours floating adrift before a civilian ship pulled them out of the ocean waters and onto the deck. Reflecting on the accident,&nbsp;Rodriguez said the entire group remained calm throughout the ordeal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“There was never really much fear that we were in danger,” Rodriguez said. “Everything was in control as much as it could be for a boat sinking.”</p>

<p>Services will not be able to resume quickly as badgers are protected animals in the European country. To move&nbsp;them from their burrowing space or disturb their habitat requires legal permission. Only after that, the repair work can be undertaken by the railway authorities.&nbsp;</p>
