Ukraine minister vows to go after army commanders accused of sexual harassment

Since Ukraine launched a counter-offensive in early June Kyiv has now urged its civilians in areas near the front lines close to the northeastern town of Kup'yans'k to evacuate. This has come about as Russia is ramping up its assault to recapture the lost land in the conflict. Meanwhile, in Kyiv's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, the front-line town of Orikhiv has seen some of the fiercest fighting in recent weeks.

Two dead after shelling in Russian border region; northeast Ukraine town urges evacuations

Ukraine's repeated drone strikes into the heart of Moscow have made one thing very clear. No territory on either side of the Russia-Ukraine border is now safe from enemy attack. What is interesting is the fact that Russia and Ukraine instead of just relying on expensive missiles are more and more relying on cheaper drones to strike at their enemy. On the 4th of August, Kyiv in an audacious attack struck a Russian warship that was stationed at Russia's Black Sea naval base of Novorossiysk. The video of the damaged warship 'Olenogorsky Gornyak' being towed to the port with the help of two tugboats has now gone viral. Even though Ukraine in its counteroffensive has so far failed to make any major headway, what is clear is that Kyiv is managing to pull off some very audacious attacks on Russia with the use of naval drones. Mohammed Saleh gets you the details.

It's been more than 500 days since the Russia Ukraine war started and both sides have been unleashing heavy weaponry in the battlefield. The United States has so far pledged the most financial support. But did you know that Washington could also be indirectly helping Moscow's war efforts?

"If Russia continues to dominate the Black Sea, outside its territory, blockading or firing at us again, launching missiles at our ports, Ukraine will do the same. This is a just defence of our opportunities, of any corridor," Zelenskiy said. "We don't have that many ships.

Russia claims to have shot down drone near Moscow In a recently reported rise of drone attacks in and around Moscow, Russia, on Monday (August 7) claimed that it shot down a Ukrainian drone southwest of the capital city. The incident is said to have taken place in Kaluga region, less than 200 kilometres from Moscow. Addressing the supposed encounter, Russian regional governor Vladislav Shapsha took to Telegram and wrote that it “affected neither people nor infrastructure”. He also said that the drone was shot down by the anti-aircraft defence system in the Ferzikovsky district overnight. Last week, on Thursday, Russia said that it shot down seven drones over the region, which did not result in any reported casualties. This also comes a day after Moscow’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said a drone targeting the Russian capital had been shot down by the city’s air defences. At least three killed after Russian shelling in Kherson, Kharkiv region: Ukraine

A turning point has been reached in the Ukraine conflict. What happens next could determine the nation's future and have an impact on European security. The Ukrainians have spent the majority of the 18 months since Russia's invasion on the defense, preventing Moscow's forces from capturing more land. But this summer, Ukraine launched an offensive in an effort to drive the Russians from territory they had previously taken control of in the east and south of the nation, with the aid of billions of pounds' worth of Western military hardware.
