He added that while he loved teaching French and endeavoured to accommodate every student, he felt he could not comply with something "that directly violated my conscience".

According to ADF, Vlaming was let go after he informed school officials that he could not, in good conscience, adhere to the district superintendent's instruction to refer to the transgender student with male pronouns. Instead, he had "attempted to accommodate" the student by using his chosen name while avoiding the use of pronouns altogether. However, the student and their parents insisted that he must use male pronouns in accordance to the school's anti-discrimination policies.

In an unrelated policy shift, the West Point School District announced it would revise its guidelines to align with recent state education laws established by Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. Roxanne Tickle, who was born a man and identifies as a woman, was initially allowed to join the Giggle for Girls app, advertised as a safe space for women to communicate with other women. But she was blocked and her membership, given in February 2021, was revoked in September 2021. A long legal battle followed, during the course of which Giggle founder Sall Grover referred to Tickle as a man in court,&nbsp;social media posts and even during&nbsp;media appearances.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk's transgender daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson came out in&nbsp;public and gave her first interview in which she alleged that her father was cruel to her because she was queer after he called her figuratively "dead".

The 20-year-old Wilson, while speaking to NBC News, said that Musk crossed the line when he said she was “not a girl” and called her figuratively “dead".

“I think he was under the assumption that I wasn’t going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged,” said Wilson.&nbsp;

"World Netball believes that the research on which it has relied is robust, it comprises many research studies, all of which have been published in peer-reviewed journals and come from multiple distinct research groups around the world," added the statement.&nbsp;

For many transgender individuals, the mosque is now a symbol of a newfound sense of belonging.&nbsp; A 42-year-old Sonia said, "I never dreamt I could pray at a mosque again in my lifetime."

A court in Russia gave orders to place two bar workers in police custody after they were accused of playing important roles in an “extremist organisation” under the country's legislation which criminalises the LGBTQ+ community.

This is the first time such a criminal case has been filed in Russia since the “international LGBT movement” was banned in November.&nbsp;

“The court chose a preventive measure for the art director and administrator of the Pose bar,” said the Orenburg tribunal.&nbsp;

As per the court, the two bar workers will stay in police custody till May 18 and can face an imprisonment of 10 years, if convicted, as per the court.&nbsp;

Earlier, the two suspects were accused by the tribunal of “promoting non-traditional sexual relations among the visitors of the bar”.

In March, the bar was raided by law enforcement and the videos which showed the humiliating detentions of some visitors of the bar were shared online.

League of the Safe Internet director Ekaterina Mizulin appreciated the criminal proceedings.

“This is the first criminal case in Russia after the decision of the Supreme Court to recognise LGBT as an extremist movement,” Mizulina said.&nbsp;

In a first-of-its-kind federal trial, a South Carolina man Daqua Lameek Ritter has been found guilty of the murder of a transgender woman Dime Doe, marking the first such conviction in the country for a hate crime based on gender identity. Following several hours of deliberation, jurors convicted Ritter for the hate crime in the killing of the woman back in 2019.

Ritter was also found guilty of obstructing justice and using a firearm in connection with the killing. He now faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole. The sentencing date is yet to be scheduled.

According to court documents, Ritter, a New York City native, had developed a close relationship with Dime while visiting his grandmother in Allendale, South Carolina.

Dime, who grew up in Allendale and worked as a hairdresser, was 24 at the time of her death.

Prosecutors argued that Ritter became enraged after Ms. Doe made their relationship public, leading to mockery from his friends. Witnesses testified that he threatened to harm Dime as a result.

Following a four-week trial at Manchester Crown Court, a jury of seven men and five women convicted Jenkinson and Ratcliffe after nearly five hours of deliberation.

The judge, Amanda Yip, announced life terms for the convictions, emphasising that the minimum time for release would be determined after considering reports on both defendants.

During the trial, shocking details emerged, revealing how the duo had discussed killing Ghey in the days leading up to her murder.

Jenkinson, referred to as girl X during the trial, had downloaded a browser app allowing her to watch videos of real torture and murder on the "dark web."

The court learned of her interest in serial killers, with notes on their methods and admission of enjoying "dark fantasies" about killing and torture.

Jenkinson and Ratcliffe had drawn up a "kill list" targeting four other youth, until Ghey, who struggled with depression and social anxiety, became the focus of Jenkinson's obsession.

Despite having thousands of TikTok followers, Ghey was described as withdrawn and anxious in person.
