On Tuesday, the Australian government indicated that Queen Elizabeth II’s image would not automatically be replaced with King Charles III on the country’s A$5 notes. However, the coins are still mandated to carry the British monarch’s image, but the notes may be replaced by Australian figures, said the country’s federal assistant minister for the Treasury, Andrew Leigh.

The federal minister also said that it was not about the queen’s status as a monarch but her personality that led to the decision to include her image on the A$5 notes and any changes would not be “automatic”. “It is a conversation that will take place in the government. There's no rush about it. The priority now is changing over the coins,” said Leigh.

Similarly, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also said that he is yet to decide if an Australian should be on the A$5 note. “I think this is a time where a bit of respect is required. We will deal with these issues appropriately, in an orderly way, in a way that is respectful.”

Foreign heads of state attending the Queen's funeral must use a group bus to Westminster Abbey rather than driving privately, as per recently released official instructions.

The documents, which were seen by the Guardian, lay out tight guidelines for the dozens of presidents, kings, queens, and prime leaders from other countries who are anticipated to attend the funeral. They advise them to take commercial planes rather than clogging up London's airports.

The instructions reveal the practical difficulty of hosting the large number of foreign dignitaries who will be coming to London next weekend. This will present a problem for Joe Biden, who will probably need a lot more security. The funeral will be attended in person by the US president.

The instructions, which were first published by Politico, specify that foreign visitors should minimise the size of their delegations as much as possible and that invitations to funerals should preferably only be sent to the head of state and their spouse, without any members of their family or staff.

The government expressed sadness that "because of limited space at the state funeral service and associated events, no other members of the principal guest’s family, staff or entourage may be admitted."

The guidance adds: “The royal funeral unit would therefore be grateful if accompanying delegations can be kept as small as possible. This will also reduce disruption and transit time at airports. Where possible, overseas representatives should plan to arrive in the UK at least one day before the state funeral or the first event, which they are attending.”

Additionally, it states that heads of state should use other London airports if they are unable to fly commercially and that Heathrow will not be open for private flight arrangements or aircraft parking. Because of the enormous number of visitors, the government will reportedly refuse to use helicopter transportation.

Foreign leaders are also cautioned in the advisory that "it will not be possible to display flags at any airport for arrival or departure."

The sheer number of private automobiles belonging to international leaders planning to attend the funeral is too much for London's streets to handle. The government will instead transport them to a different location in London where it will "provide coach transport from a central assembly point … Because of traffic restrictions, it will not be possible for guests to travel to such events in their own vehicles."

Manchester United led English football's tributes to Queen Elizabeth II before their 1-0 defeat against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, while Roma boss Jose Mourinho was in mourning after the monarch's death on Thursday.

United, West Ham and Arsenal players -- the Premier League teams in action in Europe's second and third tier tournaments -- all wore black armbands after the Queen died aged 96 earlier in the day. There were sombre atmospheres at Old Trafford and the London Stadium, with United and West Ham both holding a minute's silence prior to kick-off. West Ham fans sang 'God save the Queen' during their 3-1 win against Romanian side FCSB in the Europa Conference League.

The death of the nation's longest-reigning monarch was announced after Arsenal had already kicked off at FC Zurich, so the Gunners had a minute's silence before the start of the second half of their 2-1 Europa League win.

Former United, Chelsea and Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho paid a sombre tribute to the Queen after Roma's 2-1 Europa League loss at Bulgarian side Ludogorets. "I'm so sorry. I have lived in England for many years, my family is there," Mourinho told Sky Sport Italy. "I don't think there's anyone who doesn't appreciate this great woman, I'm sorry."

During an immaculately observed minute's silence in Manchester, United's players linked arms while Sociedad did the same on the other side of the centre-circle. Several United fans were seen crying in the stands, while Sociedad's fans held their blue and white scarves aloft in tribute during the minute's silence. There had been no pre-match music and the digital advertising hoardings were switched off, while flags at Old Trafford were at half-mast as a sign of the club's "utmost respect" for the Queen.

"Manchester United shares the sorrow of the entire nation following the announcement from Buckingham Palace on the passing of Her Majesty, the Queen," a club statement said.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin added: "UEFA and European football are truly saddened by the passing away of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, one of the world's most-respected figures.

The usual chants in support of United and against the club's owners the Glazer family were heard once the game started, but the atmosphere felt more subdued than usual. Erik Ten Hag described Brazil forward Antony as United's "missing link" after the Brazil forward scored on his debut against Arsenal on Sunday following his £82 million move from Ajax.

But the 22-year-old struggled to make any impact during a disjointed United performance. Cristiano Ronaldo was making only his second United start this season, while Brazil midfielder Casemiro was given his first start since arriving from Real Madrid. Neither player could spark United, who saw a 35th minute header from Ronaldo correctly disallowed for offside.

Sociedad clinched their victory in the 59th minute when United defender Lisandro Martinez was controversially penalised for handball. The ball only hit Martinez's arm after bouncing off his knee but following a VAR check the decision was confirmed and Brais Mendez stroked the spot-kick past David De Gea. After winning four successive Premier League games, United were beaten for the third time in boss ten Hag's reign.

Brazilian teenager Marquinhos scored on his Arsenal debut as the Premier League leaders recovered from their first defeat of the season at United last weekend. Marquinhos, signed from Sao Paulo in June, finished first-time from a low Eddie Nketiah cross in the 16th minute to put Arsenal ahead. Zurich equalised just before half-time when Mirlind Kryeziu converted a penalty after a foul in the box by Nketiah.

Nketiah made amends by scoring the winning goal just after the hour mark, heading in from Marquinhos's cross. Elsewhere in the Europa League, PSV Eindhoven and Bodo/Glimt drew 1-1, with Cody Gakpo after Albert Gronbaek had given the Norwegian champions the lead. Lazio beat Feyenoord 4-2 thanks to Matias Vecino's double.

Man Utd lose to Real Sociedad in Europa League after leading English football's tributes to Queen Elizabeth II

The clamour to return the Kohinoor diamond to India has increased in response to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the monarch of Britain with the longest reign. The controversial 105.6 carat stunning "Mountain of Light" is currently one of 2,800 diamonds, sapphires, and other precious stones in the British monarch's 1937-designed crown. Up to her passing, the Queen owned it.

According to recent reports, Queen Camilla will now get the famous crown. She will be anointed alongside King Charles III during his coronation.

While some Twitter users appeared to be making genuine requests for the Kohinoor diamond's return, others were just being funny.

An image from the Bollywood movie "Dhoom 2" in which Hrithik Roshan's character grabs a diamond from a moving train was circulated on Twitter. The user added the following to the post: "Hrithik Roshan on his journey back to recover our heera, moti; Kohinoor from the British Museum to India."

Another user said the Queen was an "active participant in colonialism. Now can we get our Kohinoor back? A reminder that Queen Elizabeth is not a remnant of colonial times. She was an active participant in colonialism."

The diamond was found in India's Golconda mines in the 14th century, and over the centuries, it changed ownership several times. Kohinoor's return has been asked by the government on numerous occasions, notably once in 1947. The British government, however, has continually disputed the claims.

The Kohinoor is thought to have been given to the British in 1849 as part of a retaliatory agreement made with the Maharaja of Lahore following the Anglo-Sikh conflict. At the time, the stone weighed 186 carats. Maharaja Duleep Singh was transported to Britain in 1847 after being split from his mother. He was forced to "donate" the diamond to Britain when he was just 10 years old.

It has been a part of the British Crown Jewels ever since, although there is still a long-standing ownership dispute involving at least four nations, including India.

Top 10 world news: Late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, US rocket launchers at Japanese base, and more

You may know Queen Elizabeth II for several reasons, but did you know that she was known to be Britain’s first high-tech monarch? The Queen was more tech-savvy than you could imagine. She was an enthusiastic advocate of technology, and there are several reasons to believe so.

Her coronation in 1953 was the first ever to be televised. She was an early adopter of the internet. In 1976, she sent her first email when visiting the Royal signals and radar establishment in Malvern, England.

It’s reported that she never wrote her emails herself but dictated them. British computer scientist Peter Kirsetin is the man who actually helped the queen in setting up her account in 1976 or rather say, he is the one who put the Queen of England on the internet.

Her username was also quite interesting – “HME2”, which stands for Her Majesty Elizabeth II. Her interest in technology was not just limited to sending emails, in 1997, she launched the first version of the royal family’s website, years before some major media publications in the UK decided to go online.

In December 2007, she launched the royal family‘s YouTube channel, the channel today has 973,000 subscribers. Many of you would be surprised to know, but she was no stranger to social media. She used both Twitter and Instagram accounts as part of the royal family. In 2014, the Queen sent a tweet from the @Britishmonarchy Twitter account in front of a live audience. She had posted to the ‘British monarchy’ Twitter account, which was later renamed, today the account is called ‘The Royal Family.’

She tweeted, “It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.”

She had posted to the ‘British monarchy’ Twitter account, which was later renamed, today the account is called ‘The Royal Family.’ She tweeted, “It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.” It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Queen Elizabeth II's love for sports through the lens

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday (September 8). At the age of 96, The Queen breathed her last with her health worsening in the recent past. She had already cut down on her public appearances to a great extent and is now survived by four children, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The Queen -- UK's longest-serving monarch -- has left a huge legacy that will last forever.

The Queen was a sports fanatic and loved horse racing but also took a keen interest in various other sports. Ahead of the 2019 ODI World Cup, held in England and Wales, all the participating teams' captains met The Queen and Prince Harry at Buckingham Palace in London. The images of the star-studded meeting went viral in no time and were shared on social media platforms.

WION Dispatch: Liz Truss becomes new UK prime minister after meeting Queen at Balmoral castle

Liz Truss has reached to the Scottish Highlands to meet the Queen at Balmoral Castle, where she will be asked to form a government and become United Kingdom's new prime minister.

Liz Truss reaches Scotland's Balmoral castle for appointment as Prime Minister

Liz Truss won the conservative party leadership election by a margin of around 20,000 votes. The former Foreign Secretary will be the United Kingdom's third female Prime Minister and the 15th under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Here is a list of the fifteen UK Prime Ministers that have governed the United Kingdom alongside the current British monarch:

1. Winston Churchill (Conservative, 1951-55)

2. Anthony Eden (Conservative, 1955-57)

3. Harold Macmillan (Conservative, 1957-63)

14. Boris Johnson (Conservative, 2019-22)

15. Liz Truss (PM-elect)

As per a Reuters report, a palace representative announced last week that due to mobility concerns, the queen would appoint Britain's new prime minister at her Scottish estate of Balmoral Castle rather than at Buckingham Palace in London.

She will not attend the Braemar Highland Gathering in Scotland. This will be the first time she has missed the gathering since ascending to the throne 70 years ago.

The 96-year-old Queen Elizabeth II is the world's longest-reigning living monarch. She ascended to the throne at the age of 25 after the death of her father George VI.

The former Foreign Secretary will be the United Kingdom's third female Prime Minister and the 15th under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. As per an AFP report, the monarch is expected to ask Truss to form a government on Tuesday after Boris Johnson formally tenders his resignation. Queen Elizabeth II took over the British throne in 1952, and during her 70 years of reign, fifteen leaders have resided in 10 Downing Street. Here is a list of the fifteen UK Prime Ministers that have governed the United Kingdom alongside the current British monarch: 1. Winston Churchill (Conservative, 1951-55) 2. Anthony Eden (Conservative, 1955-57) 3. Harold Macmillan (Conservative, 1957-63) 4. Alec Douglas-Home (Conservative, 1963-64) 5. Harold Wilson (Labour, 1964-70 and 1974-76) 6. Edward Heath (Conservative, 1970-74) 7. James Callaghan (Labour, 1976-79) 8. Margaret Thatcher (Conservative, 1979-90) 9. John Major (Conservative, 1990-97) 10. Tony Blair (Labour, 1997-2007) 11. Gordon Brown (Labour, 2007-10) 12. David Cameron (Conservative, 2010-16) 13. Theresa May (Conservative, 2016-19) 14. Boris Johnson (Conservative, 2019-22) 15. Liz Truss (PM-elect) As per a Reuters report, a palace representative announced last week that due to mobility concerns, the queen would appoint Britain's new prime minister at her Scottish estate of Balmoral Castle rather than at Buckingham Palace in London. Liz Truss wins to become UK's 15th Prime Minister under Queen Elizabeth II. A look at her predecessors

In a significant departure from convention, officials are creating fresh preparations for the Queen as she continues to experience mobility problems.

In an unexpected change of events, the Queen might choose to name the new Prime Minister at Balmoral as opposed to Buckingham Palace.

The 96-year-old monarch is on vacation at Balmoral, therefore the best course of action could be to announce Boris Johnson's replacement there on September 6.

It had been anticipated that the Queen would have to take a 1,000-mile round trip to choose between Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss as the new head of the Conservative Party.

The monarch typically departs for Balmoral Castle in July of each year and stays there until October before coming back to Buckingham Palace.
