It's here. The first posters of the final season of the global hit series The Crown were unveiled by Netflix on social media on Monday. The series will be released in two parts later this year. The first instalment of the wildly successful historical drama's sixth season will be available to stream on November 16, while the second and final part will be released four weeks later on December 14.

The new poster shows actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana in the show, sitting on a diving board dressed in an electric blue swimsuit. Another poster shows actress Imelda Staunton who plays Queen Elizabeth II walking out of a dark hallway.

Netflix also unveiled a short teaser on Monday. The minute-long teaser saw a visual representation of all the three actors who have played the Queen in the series. It begins with the voice of Claire Foy saying, "The Crown is a symbol of permanence." It then transforms into the voiceover of Olivia Colman, who enters the hallway and says, "Some portions of our natural selves is always lost." As the camera finally rests on the face of Imelda Staunton, who plays the aged Queen, who says, "But what about the life, I put aside? The woman, I put aside?"

The Crown, which first aired on Netflix in late 2016, is a fictionalised version of the British royal family but broadly based on real historical events.

It has amassed a loyal audience around the world, won dozens of top awards -- including 21 Emmys -- and stoked controversy in Britain over claims of untrue depictions of the royals.

The Crown season 6 first posters out! Series to air in two parts

An iconic red sweater worn by Princess Diana shortly after her engagement to then-Prince Charles, featuring rows of fluffy little sheep, sold at auction for $1.1 million following a frenetic bout of final bidding, Sotheby's announced Thursday.

The 19-year-old sported the knit garment -- which includes one black sheep amid dozens of otherwise white wooly creatures -- at a June 1981 polo match during her whirlwind days as a shy royal-in-the-making.

The playfully patterned "Black Sheep" sweater became one of the most emblematic articles of clothing worn by Diana, which in hindsight seems to foretell her troubled journey as a member of the British royal family.

The garment nabbed $1.1 million -- which includes fees and commission -- after a fierce battle by internet bidders.

The total was over ten times more than Sotheby's initial estimate of between $50,000 to $80,000.

Due to an avalanche of bids, the auction house extended the sale by several minutes, with the price leaping astronomically from $190,000 to $1.1 million in the final 15 minutes.

According to Sotheby's, it is the highest price ever paid at auction for a garment belonging to Princess Diana -- eclipsing her Infanta-style ball gown sold in January for $604,800 -- as well as the most valuable sweater ever sold at auction.

The sweater was created by then-little-known designers Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne and their knitting company Warm and Wonderful, which was subsequently catapulted to fame.

Weeks after Diana was photographed in the top, the designers received a letter explaining that one of the sweater's sleeves had suffered damage, and asking if it could be repaired or replaced.

The designers sent her a new one and had assumed the original was repaired and sent to a customer, but in March 2023 Osborne found the sweater in a small box in her attic.

In addition to the sweater, the auction included the letter requesting repair, as well as a thank you note from Diana's private secretary, Oliver Everett.

Diana was seen wearing the replacement at a June 1983 polo match.

Some 40 years later "Black Sheep" was re-released for sale in 2020 in a collaboration between the fashion brand Rowing Blazers and its original designers, Muir and Osborne.

The sweater was so iconic that it even appeared (via replica) in the fourth season of Netflix drama The Crown, chronicling the House of Windsor's recent history.

Billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed dies at 94, 26 years after son Dodi and Princess Diana’s fatal car crash

Remembering Princess Diana on her 26th death anniversary

Almost 26 years after the tragic death of Princess Diana, the world is still captivated by her enigmatic life within the royal family. Recently, a stunning discovery has emerged - six additional hours of revealing interview tapes that the late Princess of Wales gave to her biographer, Andrew Morton. These unearthed tapes shed new light on Diana's experiences and offer an unfiltered look into her life behind the palace walls. Royal commentator Kinsley Schofield recently spoke to Talk TV about the origins of these tapes. According to her, Dr James Colthurst, a close friend of Diana, acted as the middleman between her and Andrew Morton during the creation of the famous book Diana: Her True Story.

Diana would candidly share her thoughts and experiences with Colthurst, who then delivered the tapes to Morton. These newly found recordings delve deeper into Diana's relationships with her family, providing valuable insights into her struggles and triumphs as a royal.

“Reportedly, these new tapes delve into Diana’s relationships with her family,” Schofield said.

Undoubtedly, these new tapes possess immense historical value and could provide a clearer picture of the late Princess's life. However, Schofield also expressed concerns about the timing of their release. Given Prince Harry's strained relationship with the royal family and the recent chaos surrounding him, it may not be the appropriate moment to bring this additional information to light. Respect for the memory of Princess Diana and the ongoing dynamics within the royal family should be taken into consideration.

Princess Diana: Newly unearthed interview tapes reveal untold stories of her life

Every Princess Diana fan has seen the late royal wearing an adorable red sweater adorned with a flock of sheep. Now, one of her diehard fans, just one, can own it too. Yes, you read that right! The iconic sweater is up for auction and is expected to sell for more than $50,000.

The 19-year-old Lady Diana Spencer was photographed in the playful wool jumper, which features a single black sheep amid a pattern of white ones, at a polo match in June 1981, soon after her engagement to Prince Charles, who was then heir to the British throne.

The garment will headline Sotheby’s online Fashion Icons sale in September. It was created and designed by Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne for their small knitwear label Warm & Wonderful.

Back in 1981, Muir and Osborne received an official letter from Buckingham Palace explaining that Diana had damaged the sweater and asking whether it could be repaired or replaced. The original was returned, showing damage to a sleeve the designers thought might have been caused by snagging on Diana’s diamond and sapphire engagement ring.

In no time, the designers knitted and dispatched a new sweater, which Diana wore with white jeans and a black ribbon tie at an event in 1983.

As many speculate, Diana supposedly liked the “black sheep” pattern on the sweater because she herself felt like a black sheep or an outsider in the royal family. Emma Corrin sported a replica as the young Diana in season four of The Crown.

If you want something similar, you can get a cotton version of the design from Warm & Wonderful for 190 pounds ($250). Osborne discovered the original sweater lying forgotten in a box in an attic earlier this year.

Cynthia Houlton, Sotheby’s global head of fashion and accessories, said, “This exceptional garment, meticulously preserved, carries the whispers of Princess Diana’s grace, charm, and her keen eye for fashion.”

The sweater, which has an estimated price of $50,000 to $80,000, will be on display at Sotheby’s New York showroom from September 7-13. Online bidding opens on August 31 and runs to September 14. The record for a piece of Diana memorabilia is $604,800 for a Victor Edelstein-designed ballgown sold by Sotheby’s in January.

Princess Diana's iconic black sheep sweater is up for auction; expected to fetch at least $50,000

A jumper famously worn by Britain’s late Princess Diana, featuring a black sheep design, is set to be auctioned later this summer, with an estimated price range of up to US$80,000.

The sweater, designed by Warm & Wonderful, will be the highlight of Sotheby's Fashion Icons online sale from August 31 to September 14, reported Reuters.

Discovered earlier this year in an attic by one of the brand's founders, this garment carries historical significance and sparks curiosity about its meaning.

The red jumper, adorned with a lone black sheep among rows of white sheep, was first worn by Princess Diana in June 1981, just a month before her wedding to Prince Charles. This sparked speculation about its symbolic meaning. The sweater's distinctive design became an iconic fashion statement associated with Princess Diana.

After it sustained damage on the wrist, Princess Diana's private secretary, Oliver Everett, contacted Joanna Osborne, co-founder of Warm & Wonderful, requesting repairs for the jumper.

Kate Middleton, now Catherine, Princess of Wales, honoured her late mother-in-law Princess Diana at King Charles III's official birthday celebrations, whose centrepiece was the Trooping The Colour 2023 parade. Pairing her fabulous green ensemble, which was full of symbolism, with Diana's sapphire earrings, the 41-year-old paid a special tribute to the late royal.

Princess Kate choose the green outfit to pay homage to the Irish Guards and her important role as Colonel, which she took from her husband, Prince William, last year.

She paired the green Andrew Gn dress with a green Philip Treacy hat and the gold Cartier shamrock brooch, which is one of Kate's favourite jewellery pieces and she often wears it for St Patrick's Day. But the highlight of the look was, undoubtedly, Princess Diana's earrings.

Composed of a cabochon sapphire surrounded by 8 diamonds with a single diamond holding up a larger cabochon sapphire surrounded by 9 diamonds, the Sapphires in these earrings reportedly originate from the strap of Princess Diana’s Saudi Sapphire Watch. Princess Diana famously wore them for the cover of Vogue in 1994.

Coincidentally, Princess Diana also wore green for her first Trooping the Colour parade as Princess of Wales in 1982. Another thoughtful way of honouring her late mother-in-law.

Catherine as Colonel of the Irish Guards and Camilla as Colonel in chief of the Grenadier Guards joined King Charles in reviewing the troops on the Horse Guard parade, the first time this has ever been done. Both Catherine and Camilla delighted fans as they made an early appearance in a carriage. The pair was accompanied by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Queen Consort Camilla picks Princess Diana’s favourite designer Bruce Oldfield for coronation

Britain's Prince Harry has admitted that he took hallucinogenic drugs such as ayahuasca to get over past trauma. Harry spoke candidly to trauma expert Gabor Maté recently and admitted the psychedelic drugs helped him acknowledge his mother, Princess Diana's death and move forward in life.

Maté discussed how people may use drugs or alcohol as coping mechanisms, and addressed Harry's previous cocaine and marijuana usage.

"Marijuana is different (to cocaine). That actually did really help me," Harry said before detailing his experiences with hallucinogens. "It was the cleaning of the windscreen, the removal of life’s filters — these layers of filters — it removed it all for me and brought me a sense of relaxation, relief, comfort, a lightness that I managed to hold back for a period of time."

Harry also added that he started doing it initially for recreation and soon realised how good it was for him. "I would say it is one of the fundamental parts of my life that changed me and helped me deal with the traumas and the pains of the past. They’re unlocking so much of what we’ve suppressed," Harry said.

Therapy using psychedelic drugs, including the naturally occurring psilocybin compound found in mushrooms, is growing in popularity in several countries in the world.

Hallucinogenic drugs are becoming quite accessible and many states are working on laws to not only decriminalise but also legalize regulated psychedelic therapy programs.

During the chat, Harry also addressed the backlash that has come his way after the release of his explosive memoir Spare, which was released earlier this year. The book reportedly lifted the veil on many royal encounters and talked about his troubled relationship with his step-mother, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and estranged brother Prince William.
"I certainly don’t see myself as a victim," he said. "I’m really grateful to be able to share my story in the hope that it will help, empower, encourage others. … And hopefully, let people understand that again, back to this human experience that we all in some shape or form, (are) all connected, especially through trauma."

The Duke of Sussex categorically stated that he never looked for sympathy when he wrote his memoir. Harry explained that he wrote the book as a way to help "someone or some people out there" who have endured mental health and mental illness struggles.

"There are people who have shared things of my life, outside my control, be it true or false. But to be able to share the things of my life that I think are important, for other people, it does, it feels good. But to me, it feels like an act of service," he said.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have been invited to the UK for King Charles' coronation ceremony scheduled to take place on May 6. King Charles III will be formally crowned at London's Westminster Abbey, nearly nine months after he took over the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry reveals he took hallucinogenic drugs to get over his past trauma

The letters of Princes Diana to her friends that she wrote during the last two years of her life are going under the hammer, reported People Magazine. Lay's Auctioneers said that there are a total of 32 letters from Diana that were sent to her friends Susie and Tarek Kassem and the "highly personal letters and cards" are said to be "astonishing" and "confidential." The last two years of Diana saw not only her death in 1997 but her divorce from the then Prince and now King Charles III in 1996. Their relationship was said to be akin to a fairy tale (they married in 1981), but it ended after media reports of affairs and other marital troubles.

Princess Diana, popularly called People's Princess, was well-loved among the masses due to her philanthropy and way of personally interacting with common people wherever she was. In 1999, she was named one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century by the Time Magazine.

In a statement, Lay's Auctioneers said, "Susie & Tarek Kassem, as very close friends of Diana, Princess of Wales, have treasured these letters for over 25 years. They reflect the special and loving relationship they had with the most unique women that they had ever known. Now, in 2023, the ownership of these poignant documents is a responsibility that the Kassems do not wish to pass on to their children or grandchildren."

"They have decided to sell the letters and use proceeds of the sale to support some of the charities that were close to Susie and Diana's hearts," the statement added.

Some might argue about the moral implications of the auction.

As per People Magazine, Lay's Auctioneers have released a photo of one of the letters dated February 17, 1996. She says in the letter, "Darling Susie Thank you for all the lovely things you said to me on the telephone tonight... You have no idea the joy and trust you and Tarek have introduced into my life and I count myself extremely fortunate both Tarek and you for believing in me..."

"Love, Diana," she signs off.

Lay's Auctioneers' statement continues, "The Kassems have kept some of their more personal and confidential letters, but largely this collection of over 30 letters and notecards illustrate Diana's immensely warm and loving disposition in a charming and delightful manner. Some letters do touch on the enormous stress she was experiencing during periods of very public heartbreak, yet her strength of character and her generous and witty disposition shine through."
Now, in 2023, the ownership of these poignant documents is a responsibility that the Kassems do not wish to pass on to their children or grandchildren." "They have decided to sell the letters and use proceeds of the sale to support some of the charities that were close to Susie and Diana's hearts," the statement added. Some might argue about the moral implications of the auction. As per People Magazine, Lay's Auctioneers have released a photo of one of the letters dated February 17, 1996. She says in the letter, "Darling Susie Thank you for all the lovely things you said to me on the telephone tonight... You have no idea the joy and trust you and Tarek have introduced into my life and I count myself extremely fortunate both Tarek and you for believing in me..." "Love, Diana," she signs off. Lay's Auctioneers' statement continues, "The Kassems have kept some of their more personal and confidential letters, but largely this collection of over 30 letters and notecards illustrate Diana's immensely warm and loving disposition in a charming and delightful manner. Some letters do touch on the enormous stress she was experiencing during periods of very public heartbreak, yet her strength of character and her generous and witty disposition shine through." Princess Diana's private correspondence from last two years of her life up for auction

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is now the new owner of the Attallah Cross- an amethyst and diamond pendant- which was Princess Diana's. The late Princess was spotted wearing the jewellery piece on several occasions. The piece was originally made by a British jeweller Garrad in the 1920s and was auctioned by Sotheby's, the auction house.

According to Sotheby's the jewellery item was sold for 163,800 pounds at a sale in London and four bidders had competed for the pendant which was ultimately bought by Kim Kardashian.

"Jewellery owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah Cross, which is so colourful, bold and distinctive," Sotheby's Kristian Spofforth said, adding, "To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the princess's growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewellery choices, at that particular moment in her life." The pendant reportedly fetched almost twice the estimated cost, revealed the auction house.

Princess Diana had worn the pendant to a 1987 charity gala.

Interestingly, Kim Kardashian has been known to be a fan of iconic and historical pieces. One would recall, she had created headlines when she attended the Met Gala in a dress worn originally by Marilyn Monroe in 1962 when she serenaded then-president John F Kennedy on his birthday.
The Attallah Cross is a bold and colourful pendant and set with square-cut amethysts and accented by circular-cut diamonds. The pendant reportedly has a diamond weight of 5.25 carats approximately.

Among the many revelations made in his memoir 'Spare', Prince Harry seemingly has also addressed the rumour that has plagued the loyal family for years. Harry has for the first time talked about the long-standing 'joke' on how he is not the biological son of King Charles.

In his book 'Spare' which hit stands on January 10, Prince Harry has recalled how King Charles himself would 'joke' about not being Harry's father during his childhood.

"'Who knows if I'm really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I'm even your real father? Maybe your real father is in Broadmoor, darling boy,'" Harry wrote about his father. "Pa liked telling stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire," Harry added.

Harry recalled that his father would "laugh and laugh" about the rumour, he himself found it to be "a remarkable unfunny joke, given the rumour circulating just then that my actual father was one of Mummy's former lovers: Major James Hewitt."

The late Princess Diana had admitted during her 1995 interview that she had an affair with Hewitt while she was still married to King Charles.

"One cause of this rumour was Major Hewitt's flaming ginger hair, but another cause was sadism," Harry wrote in his memoir. "Tabloid readers were delighted by the idea that the younger child of Prince Charles wasn't the child of Prince Charles. They couldn't get enough of this 'joke,' for some reason. Maybe it made them feel better about their lives that a young prince's life was laughable."

Prince Harry put to rest the rumour and clarified, "Never mind that my mother didn't meet Major Hewitt until long after I was born, the story was simply too good to drop."

The rumour was in fact addressed and refuted by Hewithh himself during a 2002 interview.

"There really is no possibility whatsoever that I am Harry's father. I can absolutely assure you that I am not," he said at the time. "Admittedly the red hair is similar to mine and people say we look alike. I have never encouraged these comparisons and although I was with Diana for a long time I must state once and for all that I'm not Harry's father. When I first met Diana, Harry was already a toddler," he noted.

Prince Harry's memoir 'Spare' has made several shocking revelations. Harry has claimed that he was assaulted by his older brother Prince William over Meghan Markle, he has called Queen consort Camilla a 'villain' and admitted that he grew uncomfortable after watching his wife Meghan Markle's 'love scenes' in 'Suits'.

Prince Harry addresses rumours of not being King Charles' biological son in new memoir

Racism. Check. Blaming the media. check. Speaking in pronouns about the British royal family. Check. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new docu-series 'Harry & Meghan,' which had unsettled the British press and reportedly even the royal family with just a trailer, premiered the first three episodes on Netflix on Thursday. Considering the hype around the show, I'd hoped that the couple would perhaps go all out in narrating their story on why they decided to step away from the family (they kept calling it the institution throughout the show). But the first three episodes (each an hour long) did not offer anything new. The couple did not mention anything that we already didn't know about the British royal family or even the paparazzi culture in the UK.

At one point in the first episode, Meghan Markle says, “When the stakes were this high, doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?” And what did we get to know from them? That they had a whirlwind romance that spanned over two continents, that they had first checked each other out on Instagram, and that they loved documenting their meets, dates, walks, and family time like most millennial couples do in the age of social media. Wow, such a big revelation!

The couple spoke in vague pronouns while mentioning the royal family and the media blurring the lines on who they were really putting the blame on. That British media and the royal family have had a love-hate relationship over decades is a known fact. Harry only reiterated it once again, recalling how his mother, the late Princess Diana had fallen prey to it and how he felt the need to protect his family from the same toxic behaviour.

Ironically, it is the same media that's helped the royal family to build an image and create a bridge with the public over the years carefully brushing past its horrifying colonising history. In an era where monarchy the world over is in redundancy, the curiosity and craze around the British royal family continue - primarily because it is fuelled by the media.

Unfortunately, Meghan and Harry have had a very public life- both individually and as a couple. Had Meghan not married Harry, she perhaps would have continued a career in showbusiness which again is aided to a great extent by the media. The two feed off each other.

There's no doubt that the press has been vile on many occasions towards Meghan Markle. Especially bringing unnecessary details about her dysfunctional family in the US, to public focus in the UK. When the couple made the hard decision to step out of the royal family to live a life away from the public eye, I, like many felt it was rather a brave move on their part, especially Harry's. A man who was a product of a broken marriage, but who was shielded by wealth, comfort, and royalty - Harry did take a brave step to move to the US, away from the shadows of his prominent family, attempting to create his own identity. But in the past two years, the only time Harry and Meghan have made headlines is when they have dragged or blamed the British royal family. They are feeding off their past glory, isn't it?

The couple has also had a rather public life post-Megxit. A deal with Netflix, a podcast, books and memoirs, and a life that cannot really be called private, Harry and Meghan are still very much part of the public discourse. So much for wanting privacy.

In pics: Harry and Meghan royal saga! Everything big revealed in their Netflix docuseries

The three episodes also highlighted how Meghan, who is of mixed parentage, was made aware of her colour post-marriage by 'them'. Meghan pointed out how her colour was not a matter of concern for her until she married Harry. The couple had spoken about facing racism in the royal family during a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. Back then they had not specified who that member was who had raised concerns about their son, Archie's skin colour. A year down the line, when so much has been written about their accusations, they still steered clear of naming anyone. So how was this really an explosive docu-series?

Harry and Meghan also appeared tone deaf in the addressal of racism and discrimination. Harry comes from a family that had for centuries colonized half of the world. They may have redeemed themselves over the years with carefully curated images in the public eye but the fact of the matter is that the family still hasn't ever openly addressed the horrific past or the grievous mistakes the ancestors had made in so many of the countries. While the episodes do touch upon the family's colonising history, Brexit which made Britain even more secluded, and racial injustice, it never really had Harry talk about the stoic silence that the family maintained all throughout.

The hype around the docuseries also speaks a lot about the audience and the media which has for decades hyped up an establishment that needs to be completely redundant in modern times. Monarchy is dead and so should the interest in royal families. Maybe it is time to introspect- why can't we shrug off our own colonial past and ignore the royal family? I am all for cheering Harry and Meghan if they bring social change to society, but why is it needed to get into details of a family and its internal problems?
Elizabeth Debicki's portrayal of Princess Diana in 'The Crown' left her biographer Andrew 'breathless'

The much-anticipated fifth season of 'The Crown' has been released on Netflix. And, like the previous seasons, this season too has opened to great reviews. The new season revolves around the troubled marriage of now-King Charles and his ex-wife, the late Princess Diana.

Apart from Diana's mental health and her turbulent marriage life with Charles, the season also shows Diana's romantic life, and while we talk about her love life, the first individual who comes to most people's thoughts is the businessman Dodi Fayed, with whom the late Princess died in a tragic car crash. But did you know, Dodi was not the only man to have romanced Diana?

The fifth season of the show introduces us to many new faces, but the one character that most of us were not aware of was Diana's first boyfriend, Dr Hasnat Khan, whom she used to describe as her "soulmate."

'The Crown' star Olivia Williams feels its a 'race issue' against Meghan Markle

Some reports suggest that Hasnat was the first person with whom Diana fell in love after her marriage with Charles was over.

In 'The Crown' season 5, Khan, played by actor Humayun Saeed, appears in the seventh episode, titled 'No Woman's Land.' Diana first saw Hasnat while she was visiting to see her friend Oonagh Toffolo's husband who was recovering in the hospital after a bypass heart surgery.

So, who was Hasnat Khan?

Hasnat Khan, a Pakistani-origin doctor, was a heart and lung surgeon. Diana and Hasnat first crossed paths in 1995 at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Sources say that it was a pretty low-key affair, but the connection between Diana and Hasnat was very deep. Many people who were close to the princess have revealed that she used to call him Mr Wonderful and the only love of her life.

After Diana saw him, she used to visit the hospital regularly and continued to do so for many weeks, till the time they become friends.

Diana wanted to marry Hasnat!

Diana and her relationship with Hasnat is not well known, but reports suggest that their relationship was very serious. At one point, Princess Di wanted to marry him and have a family with him.

The royal author Ingrid Seward has said, "It was no casual fling; she wanted to marry Hasnat and have a baby, a daughter in particular. She thought the combination of their different ethnic backgrounds would make a wonderful family.''

Things were so serious, that the Princess of Wales even travelled to Pakistan to meet Khan's family.

One day, Diana even asked her butler to find a priest who would marry her to Khan. She even introduced him to her two sons William and Harry.

The Breakup

The exact reason behind the breakup is not known. But sources say that Khan was sure that he would not be able to live a normal life after his relationship with the Princess of Wales became public. They tried many options, but nothing worked out, and they went their separate ways in 1997, a few months before her death.

"My main concern about us getting married was that my life would be hell because of who she was. I knew I would not be able to live a normal life, and if we ever had children together, I would not be able to take them anywhere or do normal things with them," Khan once said.

The second episode of 'The Crown' shows Princess Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki) speaking candidly about her bulimia while secretly recording tapes for author Andrew Morton for his book 'Diana: Her True Story'.
Beat added that while the inclusion of this portion could raise awareness amongst many, those who already were suffering from the disorder would get triggered and so should avoid watching the series.
Bulimia is a serious, complex mental illness which impacts an estimated 230,000 people in the UK, Beat’s director of external affairs, Tom Quinn told Metro.co.uk.
Beat's director of external affairs Tom Quinn told UK daily Metri that nearly 230,000 people in the UK suffer from this complex mental disorder.

"When TV programmes like 'The Crown' portray eating disorders it can help to raise awareness of the reality of living with these mental illnesses and encourage people to seek support, but it’s crucial that this is done in an accurate and responsible way.

"For instance, a common misconception is that bulimia only impacts those who are underweight, however, the reality is that eating disorders can impact people of any weight, shape, age, gender or background."

Mr Quinn added, "We wouldn’t advise that anybody currently unwell with an eating disorder watches programmes which focus on eating disorders as we know it can be upsetting."

The late Princess Diana had famously opened up about her struggles with bulimia during her infamous BBC interview with Martin Bashir in 1995.
"You inflict it upon yourself because your self-esteem is at a low ebb, and you don’t think you’re worthy or valuable," the Princess had said back then.
Reports: Rare life-size cast of Princess Diana’s left hand with wedding ring up for auction

Giant streaming platform Netflix-backed 'The Crown' has lately been busy filming its latest season, which leads up to Princess Diana’s death in Paris, France. New photos have surfaced online which reveal that the show will feature some scenes from the Paris car crash site, where Diana breathed her last in 1997.

Supposedly, to recreate the tragic car crash moment, the crew and cast of the series reached Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris, which is the fateful location where Diana's driver crashed in 1997 while being tailed by paparazzi.

In the now-viral pictures, a Mercedes-Benz can be seen heading towards the tunnel, while being chased by paps on motorbikes. A sea of cameramen were also seen at the location to capture the scenes.

A Netflix spokesperson, however, had previously said that the exact moment of the crash impact will not be shown.

There is a sense of anxiety among the cast and crew of 'The Crown' which is all set to shoot the scenes leading up to Prince Diana's death. A report in Variety states that the scenes will be shot in the next two weeks with actress Elizabeth Debicki playing Diana.

A source said that there is a strong desire within the production team "to get it right and handle (it) sensitively."
Not only are Diana`s sons, Princes Wiliam and Harry, still alive and continuing to grieve but the British royal, dubbed "the People`s Princess" by former Prime Minister Tony Blair, continues to hold a special place in people's hearts some 25 years after she died in a car crash in Paris at the age of 36.

On that fateful night, Diana was with her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed, son of Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed, and was pursued by paparazzi when the couple`s driver sped into a Parisian tunnel and crashed into a pillar in the Pont de l`Alma underpass on August 31, 1997. Only Diana`s bodyguard survived.

Although it is understood that the makers of `The Crown` do not plan to show the moment of the crash, they will portray scenes leading up to it and its aftermath.

As Variety revealed last year, Khalid Abdalla has been cast as Dodi while Mohamed Al-Fayed will be portrayed by both Salim Daw and Amir El-Masry. El-Masry will play a younger Al-Fayed, presumably in flashback sequences.

'The Crown', which is currently shooting its sixth and supposedly final season, has always been innovative about which episodes of the British royal family`s life it portrays on screen, often staying away from anything obvious in favour of more intimate moments.

Diana's wedding to Prince Charles, for example, was not shown on screen although audiences were privy to a short montage of the couple getting dressed in their bridal finery alongside a voiceover of a clergyman reading their marriage rites. The scene ended as Diana, in her wedding dress, walked into the hallway and through some double doors.

Princess Diana's death to be handled 'sensitively' in new season of 'The Crown'

There has been a renewed interest in the Netflix series 'The Crown' in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth II's death last month. The new stills from the upcoming season 5 will just double up the excitement.

The makers unveiled the first look of the upcoming season 5, which is set in the 1990s, a time when the British royal family was widely covered and followed thanks to the growing media and paparazzi culture. It was also the time when Princess Diana and Prince Charles' marriage fell apart while their two sons were growing up.

With the new decade in its stride, the Royal Family are presented with possibly their biggest challenge to date; as the public openly questions their role in ‘90s Britain.

This turbulent decade for the Royal Family has been well documented and interpreted by journalists, biographers and historians. As Elizabeth Debicki, who takes on the role of Princess Diana, said in a statement, “That's the amazing thing about playing these people at this time because, in the journey of The Crown so far out of all the seasons, this is the most visual content we have of the Royal Family. In the ‘90s everything had started to be filmed and also it was the birth of the 24-hour news cycle so there's just this incredible amount of content that we have access to.”

'The Crown' Season 5 first look out! Makers recreate some of the iconic moments from the 1990s

Using artificial intelligence and editing software, photographer Alper Yesiltas has resurrected stars who died when they were young.

The Turkey-based photographer, who created the portraits for a project titled 'As If Nothing Happened,' said ''With the development of AI technology, I’ve been excited for a while, thinking that "anything imaginable can be shown in reality.''

Sharing the haunting and realistic images on his Instagram handle, Yesiltas said ''When I started tinkering with technology, I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me the happiest. I wanted to see some of the people I missed again in front of me and that’s how this project emerged.''

''The hardest part of the creative process for me is making the image feel ‘real’ to me. The moment I like the most is when I think the image in front of me looks very realistic as if it was taken by a photographer,'' he added.

The Turkey-based photographer, who created the portraits for a project titled 'As If Nothing Happened,' said ''With the development of AI technology, I’ve been excited for a while, thinking that "anything imaginable can be shown in reality.'' Sharing the haunting and realistic images on his Instagram handle, Yesiltas said ''When I started tinkering with technology, I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me the happiest. I wanted to see some of the people I missed again in front of me and that’s how this project emerged.'' ''The hardest part of the creative process for me is making the image feel ‘real’ to me. The moment I like the most is when I think the image in front of me looks very realistic as if it was taken by a photographer,'' he added.
