<p>Weightlifter Satish Sivalingam tweeted a video of his young daughter mimicking Mirabai, with a caption, "Junior @mirabai_chanu this s called the inspiration." Chanu re-tweeted the post and wrote, "So cute. Just love this."</p>

<p>In the video, the small girl was trying to copy Mirabai's silver-winning lift as the TV was playing footage of the weightlifter in the background. The girl also celebrated just like Chanu by waving her hands and imitated the monumental medal moment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The 26-year-old Mirabai Chanu managed a total lift of 202 kgs (87kgs in snatch + 115 kgs in clean and jerk) to claim the silver medal. She finished behind the Olympic champion Hou Zhihui of China, who set an Olympic record with a lift of 210 kgs (94+116). Indonesia’s Aisah Windy Cantika took the bronze medal with an effort of 194kg (84+110).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mirabai became the second Indian weightlifter to win an Olympic medal after Karnam Malleswari, who had won the Olympic medal (Bronze) while competing at the 2000 Sydney Games in the women’s 69kg weight category.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Japan's&nbsp;tennis star&nbsp;Naomi&nbsp;Osaka has been eliminated from the women's tennis singles tournament at Tokyo Olympics 2020 on July 27 (Tuesday) after being defeated in the third round.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On day four of the Games, Czech Marketa Vondrousov crushed Osaka's dreams of winning an Olympic gold medal on home soil. The world number two was swiped aside 6-1, 6-4 by Vondrousova in an early shock.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Osaka was off to a poor start as she dropped serve in the opening game and then she was broken twice more as Vondrousova won the first set.</p>

<p>However, Osaka broke in the second set but relinquished the early advantage with a double fault. She&nbsp;saved two match points as she served to stay alive at 4-5 but Vondrousova emerged as a tough competitor and&nbsp;snatched the victory.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Flora Duffy achieved instant national hero status when she won Bermuda’s first Olympic gold medal on Tuesday after delivering a dominant run leg for an emphatic victory in the women's triathlon on a stormy Tokyo course.</p>

<p>By halfway on the run Duffy had forged 50m clear and a fired-up Taylor-Brown overhauled Zaferes at the end of the third lap.</p>

<p>"The first lap of the run was panic mode," said the Briton. "I think I definitely paid for it in the latter part of the run but it paid off."</p>

<p>She was never going to catch Duffy, however, and the Bermudan enjoyed every moment of her triumphant charge down the finishing blue carpet, clenching her fists in joy and celebration.</p>

<p>"I was very overwhelmed," Duffy said. "I didn’t know what to do, or what to think. It was a really, really special moment.</p>

<p>"Maybe I replayed a little bit of all that it took to get here. It's great to achieve a personal thing but it's bigger than me and will inspire the youth of Bermuda and show that competing on the world stage from a small island is really possible."</p>

<p>Looking almost as happy was 39-year-old mother-of-three Nicola Spirig, the 2012 champion and 2016 runner up, who ran superbly to take sixth place in her fifth Olympics.</p>

<p>The final triathlon event is the inaugural mixed relay on Saturday.</p>

<p>Moments after the defeat, when Maria was giving an interview to the media, her coach Lucas Guillermo Saucedo, who is also her boyfriend of 17 years, flashed a handwritten sign that read "Will you marry me? <p>Chanu victory was monumental as it came two decades after Karnam Malleswari became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal (Bronze) while competing at the 2000 Sydney Games in the women’s 69kg weight category.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Japan's tennis star Naomi Osaka said that it would mean a lot to her to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as she cruised into the third round of the tennis tournament on July 26 (Monday). The four-time Grand Slam singles champion Osaka defeated Switzerland's Viktorija Golubic 6-3, 6-2.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After finishing the match, Osaka said "It definitely would mean a lot for me to win gold here, but I know it's a process. <p>Benjamin Savsek won Slovenia's first gold medal in the men's canoe slalom on Monday after barrelling down the white-water course in Tokyo almost four seconds ahead of his nearest rival.</p>

<p>Lukas Rohan from the Czech Republic took silver with Germany's Sideris Tasiadis, who finished runner-up in 2012, getting bronze.</p>

<p>Tokyo Olympics organisers, in their daily Coronavirus (COVID-19) update on Monday, reported&nbsp;16 new Games-related cases, including three athletes. However, it has been confirmed that all three athletes are not residents of the Olympic Village.&nbsp;Among the remaining 13 cases, four are contractors and a member was part of the organising committee. Eight games-related officials have also been infected, out of which one was staying at the village. <p>Athletes must wear masks throughout the Tokyo Olympic Games venues, including medal ceremonies, the International Olympic Committee said on Sunday (July 25), but according to a new policy they are briefly allowed to remove it on the podium for a photo opportunity.</p>

<p>Masks are mandatory across all venues, both inside and outside for all athletes, staff and media, as part of Games organisers' strict measures to combat the coronavirus.</p>

<p>"It's not a nice to have. It's a must have," said IOC spokesperson Mark Adams, responding to questions about the mask-less swimmers.</p>

<p>Defending champion Britain's Andy Murray pulled out from the men's singles tournament of Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Sunday (July 25) due to a minor thigh strain. As per the released statement, Murray informed that he is "really disappointed" and have made the "difficult decision" to withdraw from the singles.</p>

<p>The 34-year-old was due to play Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime and after pulling out, he has been replaced in the singles draw by Australian Max Purcell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Murray, who won his opening men's double match with Joe Salisbury on Saturday, has pulled out only from singles and will continue to play men's doubles tournament as it has been advised to not play in both the events.&nbsp;</p>
