<p>More than five years after leaving office, former United States president Barack Obama and his wife, former first lady Michelle Obama, returned to the White House on Wednesday (September 7) for the unveiling of their official portraits.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The event was hosted by fellow Democrat and the current President Joe Biden, who served as the vice president throughout Obama's two terms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Obamas themselves unveiled the paintings which will get hung beside those of generations of previous first couples in the White House.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When they pulled the plain blue cloths that were covering the artworks, people present in the East Room cheered for the former president and former first lady.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Another gaffe! The United States President Joe Biden mistakenly referred to the former First Lady Michelle Obama as the former Vice President of the country. The mistake was corrected by the White House, however, the clip went viral on social media, leaving the netizens abuzz.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Biden was speaking while commissioning the commemoration Ceremony of the USS Delaware on Saturday (April&nbsp;2), where he was praising his wife, the current First Lady, Jill Biden.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, Biden can be heard as saying, "I'm deeply proud of the work she [Jill] is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama <strong>when she was Vice President</strong> and now carries on."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The transcript of the speech, which was uploaded on the official website of the White House, struck the word "she" and added the word "I" in a bracket. The corrected statement read: "...she started with Michelle Obama when&nbsp;<strong><s>she</s>&nbsp;[I]</strong> was Vice President and now carries on."&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is not the first time the White House has corrected Biden's mistakes and slip-ups. Recently, Biden's comments targeting Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared to be a call for his exit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While speaking in front of a crowd in Warsaw, Poland on March 26, Biden said: "For God's sake, this man [Putin] cannot remain in power." The Biden administration rushed to correct it. They said Biden was not asking for "regime change".&nbsp;</p>

<strong>Take us back to how it all started for you—YouTube videos! Why was it important for you to be heard on a video-sharing platform? So take us back to that moment.</strong></p>

I didn't really want to make content because I wanted to be seen or I wanted to be heard. I just wanted to make content because I didn't know what else to do. I was failing at being a Radio Jockey and that used to be my dream job, and it wasn't working. So making videos actually came as a safety net, because that’s the only thing I could fall back on right then.</p>

I mean, one of the favorite parts of my job is the fact that I get to collaborate with people from different fields, people from different parts of the world, people from different schools of thought, people from, you know, people who have lived life very differently than I have. Overall, just amazingly creative people from around the world. And I feel like that God has been amazingly kind to me.</p>

<p>But, I'm very happy. Honestly, one of my favorite meeting has to be creating content.&nbsp;</p>

<strong>I know you have talked about Mrs. Michelle Obama in the past. But, we still want to know how she is like when the camera's not rolling? Has she has she shared any words of wisdom with you? What have you learned from her that resonates with you even to this day?</strong></p>

<p><br />
I think the best part about it was that I don't think she's very different when the cameras’ not rolling. And she's extremely relatable. She's as real as she seems to us via, you know, all the content that we see (on her). Michelle Obama is exactly like that. And I think that was one of my biggest lessons to just see someone like that.</p>

<p><em>It's almost like she didn't know she is Michelle Obama. And that sounds normal. She walks into a room, she gives you a hug. She talks to you like you're a friend.</em></p>

<p>As if it’s nothing. I remember feeling so nervous as she entered the room. And, after she came inside the room, I think within a few seconds, she came and hugged all of us and then immediately all those thoughts that she was ‘the Michelle Obama’ and I was nervous: it just wasn’t there anymore. It was as if we were just a bunch of girls sitting down talking about girls’ education. And I think that is such a beautiful quality to have—to have achieved so much in life, at least where she is right now. But, still have your feet solid on the ground. I think that was that was a beautiful thing.</p>

I don't think I can process something like this. It was way too big; way too big a possibility for me in my head. But, I still believe that has not happened. At the same time, I'm very grateful that I get to be in a position and live a life like this. So, it's just a whole lot of gratitude and I think more motivation to keep doing (good) work.&nbsp;</p>

Both of us were very invested in the different shades of Dimple and Rishi (their respective character names on the show). I think what sort of helped us hold on to the characters and the chemistry on screen.</p>

Honestly, I think he has a huge role to play in the fact that I was very, very comfortable when I was on set because he was extremely warm, but even before that. And then I met everyone and you know, it was just I feel so grateful and I feel so blessed that I just to be on time when again where people are just so amazing. Everyone's was so nice. Everybody was so accommodative.</p>

It's one of my favorite things to do about my job.</p>

And I'm very proud to always say that I have followers that are very supportive. So, if it's hate online, I really don't care. It's not my problem. But, otherwise, I think negativity in life, I'm very blessed to have a close circle of people who are most amazing human beings I've ever met. My friends and my family I think are just, you know, I feel a lot of happiness to have them generally in life.</p>

I was failing at being a Radio Jockey and that used to be my dream job, and it wasn't working. So making videos actually came as a safety net, because that’s the only thing I could fall back on right then. You have worked with so many popular personalities from around the world. How was how has that journey been for you? It was amazing! I mean, one of the favorite parts of my job is the fact that I get to collaborate with people from different fields, people from different parts of the world, people from different schools of thought, people from, you know, people who have lived life very differently than I have. Overall, just amazingly creative people from around the world. And I feel like that God has been amazingly kind to me. When I started off, I never thought that I would be on YouTube or the overall digital content creation would open a new door for me. But, I'm very happy. Honestly, one of my favorite meeting has to be creating content. I know you have talked about Mrs. Michelle Obama in the past. But, we still want to know how she is like when the camera's not rolling? Has she has she shared any words of wisdom with you? What have you learned from her that resonates with you even to this day? I think the best part about it was that I don't think she's very different when the cameras’ not rolling. And she's extremely relatable. She's as real as she seems to us via, you know, all the content that we see (on her). Michelle Obama is exactly like that. And I think that was one of my biggest lessons to just see someone like that. It's almost like she didn't know she is Michelle Obama. And that sounds normal. She walks into a room, she gives you a hug. She talks to you like you're a friend. As if it’s nothing. I remember feeling so nervous as she entered the room. And, after she came inside the room, I think within a few seconds, she came and hugged all of us and then immediately all those thoughts that she was ‘the Michelle Obama’ and I was nervous: it just wasn’t there anymore. It was as if we were just a bunch of girls sitting down talking about girls’ education. And I think that is such a beautiful quality to have—to have achieved so much in life, at least where she is right now. But, still have your feet solid on the ground. I think that was that was a beautiful thing. You have won the Outstanding Daytime Non-Fiction Special for ‘Creator of Change’ featuring the former first lady of America, and for an issue you genuinely seem to be care about. Has the feeling sunk in yet? How's the feeling of winning such a massive award? I don't think I can process something like this. It was way too big; way too big a possibility for me in my head. But, I still believe that has not happened. At the same time, I'm very grateful that I get to be in a position and live a life like this. <p>Former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama has accused President Donald Trump of "willful mismanagement" of the coronavirus crisis and of racism in a scathing new video four weeks before election day November 3.</p>

<p>Donald Trump is a "racist" president whose strategy of fearmongering, division and promoting ugly conspiracy theories could "destroy" America if he is re-elected, the former first lady said Tuesday.</p>

<p>In a 24-minute video offering closing arguments for Democratic White House nominee Joe Biden, Obama described Trump and his Republican allies as unfairly "stoking fears" about African Americans.</p>

<p>Obama noted&nbsp;that more Americans have died from COVID-19 than those who died in the Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Korean wars combined. To her charade, she adds that "our commander in chief, sadly, has been missing in action."&nbsp;She also calls&nbsp;on all young and Black voters to not "waste" their votes.</p>

<p>Trump is "morally wrong" for taking actions that intimidate voters and for "lying" about how minorities will ruin US suburbs, she said.</p>

<p>"What the president is doing is once again patently false, it's morally wrong, and yes, it is racist," said the 56-year-old wife of Barack Obama, the nation's first black president.</p>

<p>But she warned such tactics have the potential to work, particularly because Americans lack the time and energy to fact-check everything being spread online or in US media.</p>

<p>"Because this is a difficult time, a confusing time, and when people hear these lies and crazy conspiracies repeated over and over and over again, they don't know what to think," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And the one thing this president is really, really good at is using fear and confusion, and spreading lies to win," Obama added.</p>

<p>Trump has declared himself the "law and order" president, and has repeatedly slammed protesters taking on racial injustice as violent extremists.</p>

<p>Obama's video targets a wide range of voters. Along with speaking to "black and brown folks," she urged white Americans to imagine "the millions of folks who look like me, and fought and died and toiled as slaves and soldiers and laborers to help build this country."</p>

<p>"As a black woman, like the majority of those in the country, having "done everything in my power to live a life of dignity and service and honesty, the knowledge that any of my fellow Americans is more afraid of me than the chaos that we are living through right now, well that hurts," she said.</p>

<p>"It is a heaviness that sits on our hearts."</p>

<p>Obama criticised Trump's "failure" to tackle the coronavirus, his belittling US military personnel as "losers" and his devotion to "enriching himself" and wealthy cronies.</p>

<p>Biden, she said, offers contrasting values aimed at helping working class families, healing divisions and protecting the environment.</p>

<p>"Search your hearts and your conscience, and then vote for Joe Biden like your lives depend on it," she said.</p>

Trump is "morally wrong" for taking actions that intimidate voters and for "lying" about how minorities will ruin US suburbs, she said. "What the president is doing is once again patently false, it's morally wrong, and yes, it is racist," said the 56-year-old wife of Barack Obama, the nation's first black president. But she warned such tactics have the potential to work, particularly because Americans lack the time and energy to fact-check everything being spread online or in US media. "Because this is a difficult time, a confusing time, and when people hear these lies and crazy conspiracies repeated over and over and over again, they don't know what to think," she said. "And the one thing this president is really, really good at is using fear and confusion, and spreading lies to win," Obama added. Trump has declared himself the "law and order" president, and has repeatedly slammed protesters taking on racial injustice as violent extremists. Obama's video targets a wide range of voters. Along with speaking to "black and brown folks," she urged white Americans to imagine "the millions of folks who look like me, and fought and died and toiled as slaves and soldiers and laborers to help build this country." "As a black woman, like the majority of those in the country, having "done everything in my power to live a life of dignity and service and honesty, the knowledge that any of my fellow Americans is more afraid of me than the chaos that we are living through right now, well that hurts," she said. "It is a heaviness that sits on our hearts." Obama criticised Trump's "failure" to tackle the coronavirus, his belittling US military personnel as "losers" and his devotion to "enriching himself" and wealthy cronies. Biden, she said, offers contrasting values aimed at helping working class families, healing divisions and protecting the environment. "Search your hearts and your conscience, and then vote for Joe Biden like your lives depend on it," she said.
