Mahesh Babu was asked at an event about his plans of doing Bollywood films to which the actor was quoted as saying, "Bollywood can't afford me." The actor had added that he was aware that he was making a statement which would make him sound 'arrogant'.

On Tuesday, while speaking to the media during the promotions of his upcoming film 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata', the actor clarified his statement once again.

"I have always wanted to do Telugu films. And I have always wished for Telugu movies to do well across the country. I strongly feel, why should we go to another industry by leaving ours behind? I am very happy that our films are reaching there (in North India). Our movies are doing well at the pan-India level and my dream is coming true,” Mahesh said.

Mahesh has often been asked about his impending debut in Bollywood and earlier he has given rather mellow answers. "I don’t need to do Hindi films. I can just do a Telugu film and it’ll get seen all over the world – that’s what’s happening right now. You’d want to be in a position to do (only) a Telugu film,” he had earlier.

In this season of coronavirus pandemic, Netflix show 'Money Heist' has gained immense popularity. Fans across the world are now making a fantasy list of actors who could play the various characters of the show- if the show was to be ever remade in their country.

In India too, numerous names have popped up when one thought of an Indian remake. Now, the director of the show- Alex Riodrigo has himself named Indian actors who he would consider if ever he had to remake the show for the Indian audience.

Speaking to an online portal, the director said he was cast Tamil superstar Vijay or Ayushmann Khurrana in the Professor's role. He picks Ajith Kumar for the role of Bagota and Shah Rukh Khan as Berlin.

Interestingly, a few weeks earlier Ayushmann had expressed his love for 'Money Heist' and had publicly asked filmmakers to write a character like the Professor for him.

Alex picked Ranveer Singh and Mahesh Babu as Denver and Tamayo respectively and Suriya as Suarez.

The cast suggested by Alex seems quite varied and interesting. The director stated that he picked the actors according to the perception he has about them. He felt Vijay looked 'intelligent' like Professor and SRK looked handsome just like Berlin.

The statue was unveiled by the actor himself at AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad on Monday.

AMB Cinemas, a 7-screen superplex, is a joint venture between Mahesh and Asian Group, a leading film distribution company. The actor's wife, Namrata Shirodkar and his children were also present during the unveiling.

Mahesh is the second Telugu actor after Prabhas to be immortalized in the form of a wax statue. What is unique to the event is the fact that the statue will be displayed for a day at AMB Cinemas so that his fans can catch a glimpse of it and later will be flown to Singapore where it will be installed at Madame Tussauds museum.

Mahesh Babu becomes second Telugu actor to get wax figure at Madame Tussauds

Mahesh Babu's latest film starrer Bharath Ane Nenu has been doing stupendous business and has earned Rs 100 crores within two days of its release. The fans of the star have demanded that the Telugu film be made available in Hindi and now the director of the film has confirmed that the film will indeed be dubbed in Hindi language.

The elated director, Koratala Siva, said, "We always knew our film will strike a chord among the masses. Indian politics has hit an all-time low in many places. There is widespread disillusionment with the people we elect to represent us in Parliament. Why is there no accountability in governance? This is what bothered me when I got down to writing Bharath Ane Nenu," said Siva to a news agency.

The film has Mahesh Babu playing a visionary Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh who may not be a seasoned politician but has a plan for his state that can help the people.

"Promise," says Siva, "was the key to the plot in Bharath Ane Nenu. When politicians are elected into public offices, they take an oath to serve the people...we the people for the people by the people... But the promise is soon broken. Why? Here was my protagonist who thinks promises are sacred. This gentleman`s word, whether given in his childhood to his mother or to Mother India in his maturity, is never to be broken. The promise was the key to my film."

Mahesh Babu was the first and only choice to play the Chief Minister's role in the film, revealed the director.

"I wanted an actor who can play a politician who is heard without shouting, whom everybody listens to when he talks although he never raises his voice. Someone who could be assertive without getting unnecessarily aggressive. No one fitted the bill except Mahesh Babu. He is soft-spoken and yet persuasive. He is exactly like the Chief Minister he plays in my film. I can`t imagine making this film without Mahesh Babu as Bharath."

And now, so powerful is the impact of Mahesh Babu`s politician`s act that director Siva is now seriously toying with the idea of a sequel.

"I have never liked or entertained the idea of doing sequels or remakes. There are so many fresh stories to be told. But the story of Chief Minister Bharath is too relevant and too pervasive to be forsaken. The country needs a political change. Bharath represents that change."

"Seeing the impact of the film`s political message, we are now planning to dub the film in other Indian languages including Hindi. We should`ve done this from the start. We should`ve known that the craving to see a new political awakening is pan-India. We are taking the film to other parts of India apart from Andhra. We feel the political message of the country is relevant to every Indian."
