Katy Perry releases soothing acoustic version of her hit 'Daisies'

Pregnant with her first child with actor Orlando Bloom, singer Katy Perry recently opened up about how she was in the depression in 2017 when Bloom and she had briefly broken up.

Perry, in a recent interview, stated that how she contemplated taking her own life in 2017 when she hit personal and professional low.

Perry explained, "My career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up and up and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective. But for me it was seismic."

She continued, "I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby-daddy-to-be, and then I was excited about flying high off the next record and the record didn`t get me high any more... The validation didn`t get me high, and so I just crashed.

"I lost my smile, I don`t know if my smile was ever fully, like, authentically mine but I was riding on the high of a smile for a long time. Which was the validation, love and admiration from the outside world, and then that shifted," described the singer.

The singer said that practicing gratitude probably "saved my life" because if "I didn`t find that I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped but I found the ways to be grateful."

Perry, in a recent interview, stated that how she contemplated taking her own life in 2017 when she hit personal and professional low. Perry explained, "My career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up and up and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective. But for me it was seismic." She continued, "I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby-daddy-to-be, and then I was excited about flying high off the next record and the record didn`t get me high any more...
The outbreak of coronavirus pandemic across the world has led to newer ways of staying connected. Due to the pandemic, filming of shows and movies have been stopped nearly in the entire world. So what happens to those reality shows that involved contestants singing in front of a panel of judges and live audience- how would their fate be decided amid the pandemic? Well, reality TV too seems to have shifted to homes.

The American Idol recently shot an episode with its top 20 finalists where all the contestants performed from their respective homes and judges Bobby Bones, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie provided remote commentary- from their respective homes. The show was hosted by Ryan Seacrest remotely.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom reveal the gender of their baby

Singer Katy Perry scored a big legal victory after a federal judge ruled in her favour in a case alleging that she and her collaborators copied her 2013 hit 'Dark Horse' from a Christian rap song.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the lawsuit began in 2014 when artist Marcus Gray initially sued Perry for copying his work from 2009 titled `Joyful Noise.`However, the song in question was found to not have enough distinct similarities to the pop star`s track to be protected by copyright.

"It is undisputed in this case, even viewing the evidence in the light most favourable to plaintiffs, that the signature elements of the eight-note ostinato in `Joyful Noise` is not a particularly unique or rare combination, even in its deployment as an ostinato: prior compositions, including prior works composed by the parties, as well as what all agree is a separate non-infringing ostinato in `Dark Horse,` all contain similar elements," US District Court Judge Christina Snyder wrote in her decision.

"Because the sole musical phrase that plaintiffs claim infringement upon is not protectable expression, the extrinsic test is not satisfied, and plaintiffs` infringement claim -- even with the evidence construed in plaintiffs` favour -- fails as a matter of law," the statement continued.
