Ahead of her concert in India on November 16, Katy Perry hinted at a possibility of her collaboration with Indian musicians.

Before she headlines the music festival in Mumbai, the American singer said, "I'm totally excited to immerse myself in the culture, this week in Mumbai. You're going to catch me on these streets." This will be her first concert in India even though she was in the country for the opening of the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

She also mentioned that she looks forward to meeting, and possibly collaborating with some people from Bollywood.

She said, "That's what the research and development this week is going to be about. I am going to a fun party, going to meet some Bollywood people, hear some incredible bands. It's been a long time since I've been here. When I was here for the IPL, I was just in-and-out, so I didn't get to immerse myself but this time it's all about immersing and educating myself."

She was joined by actress Jacqueline Fernandez.

"I am excited to meet anyone interesting, has a great perspective, care, kindness and empathy for the world and wants to do compassionate artistic thing. That's the kind of people I want to hang out with. I'm sure Jacqueline is definitely going to take me shopping and eating," she added.

When I was here for the IPL, I was just in-and-out, so I didn't get to immerse myself but this time it's all about immersing and educating myself." She was joined by actress Jacqueline Fernandez. "I am excited to meet anyone interesting, has a great perspective, care, kindness and empathy for the world and wants to do compassionate artistic thing. That's the kind of people I want to hang out with. I'm sure Jacqueline is definitely going to take me shopping and eating," she added.
Singer Katy Perry along with the collaborators of her 2013 track 'Dark Horse' has filed an appeal seeking a reversal or new trial in their copyright infringement suit.

In almost a week-long trial in July, a California jury found Perry and collaborators guilty of stealing Christian rapper Marcus Gray popularly known as Flame's song 'Joyful Noise', and thus made them liable to pay USD 2.78 million in damages.

According to the appeal filed on Wednesday, as cited by a news agency, they are asking the jury to either overturn or grant a new trial on "the legally unsupportable jury verdicts in this music copyright infringement case that are widely recognised within the music industry and beyond as a grave miscarriage of justice".

"The erroneous verdicts in this case and the precedent established thereby present serious harm to music creators and to the music industry as a whole," the appeal added.

In their appeal, the defendants maintained that nearly all the original plays for 'Joyful Noise' were in religious venues and suggested that the original song may not have sold a single verifiable copy.

"Plaintiffs did not offer proof of one single digital or brick-and-mortar sale of 'Joyful Noise' or (the album) 'Our World Redeemed' and admitted that they have no such evidence," they wrote in the appeal.

Perry added that the plaintiffs presented no evidence of any sales or any 'documentary evidence' of their song. Along with Perry, those liable to pay damages are Capitol Records, Warner Bros. Music Corporation, Kobalt Publishing, and Kasz Money, along with producers and songwriters Dr Luke, Max Martin, Cirkut, Sarah Hudson and Juicy J.

Seems like singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who recently reconciled with fellow singer Katy Perry after a long-time feud, is in the spirit to mend some old relationships.Swift recently took to her Instagram stories to reply to singer Demi Lovato, who praised the star for her new album `Lover`.

Lovato on Monday shared the "jam" she`s been bopping to and it was none other than Swift`s hit song `Cruel Summer` from her newly released album `Lover`. Despite speculation that the singers were not on good terms, Lovato made it clear that those rumours couldn`t be farther from the truth as she supported Swift`s new album.

She went on to compliment Swift and squash rift rumours between the two."Life`s too short for women to not support other women. Especially when women release great music. Great job @taylorswift," Lovato captioned her Instagram Story, along with a heart, praise hands and clapping hands emojis.

The 27-year-old star`s post caught Taylor`s attention and she re-posted it to her own Instagram account."This is so awesome and put the biggest smile on my face. Thank you @ddlovato," the singer shared on Instagram story.

At the 2019 MTV VMAs, fans of the two singers believed that they were not on good terms, especially after Lovato shared a cryptic message on the photo-sharing application, reported E! News."I skipped the VMA`s for a REASON. Well that and I just hate award shows," Lovato posted on her Instagram Story on August 26.

It didn`t take long for fans to call out Lovato for "throwing shade" at Swift, who won big that night. My REASON for not going is because I`m literally living my dream being on Will & Grace rn so stop reaching," Lovato said.
Lovato also previously sided with her new music manager, Scooter Braun, in his public feud with Swift earlier this year over his purchase of Swift`s music catalogue when he acquired Big Machine Label Group.
Back in June, Lovato weighed in on the Braun and Swift drama. He`s a good man. Personally, I`m grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop `dragging` people or bullying them. There`s enough hate in this world as it is," she shared. But despite everything that`s happened in recent months, looks like Swift and Lovato are putting their rift aside and focusing on uplifting each other.

Actor-model Josh Kloss, who featured in singer-songwriter Katy Perry`s `Teenage Dream` music video in 2010, has accused the singer of sexual misconduct, claiming that she pulled down his pants at a party, exposing him before all his friends. Kloss shared a post on his Instagram account and wrote that the 34-year-old singer was cold to him when others were around but friendly when they were alone. He also said she invited him to a strip club, but he turned it down, reported Fox News. Kloss also alleged that he and Perry ran into each other several times after her divorce from actor-comedian Russell Brand, and that`s when she allegedly committed sexual misconduct. "This one time I brought a friend who was dying to meet her. It was Johny Wujek`s birthday party at Moonlight Rollerway. And when I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush. But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us my p--is," Kloss recalled. "Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt? I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting," he added. Jury finds Katy Perry copied Christian rap song

Singers Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have put their feud in the past and there`s no more bad blood between the two.

The music icons came together for Swift`s `You Need To Calm Down` music video, which released on Monday.

In the video, which stands for the LGBTQ+ community and equal rights for women, the singers share a hug.

The duo had been in a feud for the past few years, reportedly over backup dancers. Swift`s song `Bad Blood` is also rumoured to be about her prolonged quarrel with Perry. Perry`s `Swish Swish` is said to be her response, reported E! News.

After reconciling, Swift opened up about being on "good terms" with Perry. Following the release of the new music video, Swift was called to the UK`s Capital Breakfast to talk about reconnecting with the `Never Really Over` singer.

During the interaction, Swift shared that she and Perry have actually been on good terms "for a while." It all began in May 2018 when Perry sent Swift a literal olive branch before her `Reputation` tour kicked off. "She and I have really been on good terms for a while. She sent me a really nice note and an olive branch like an actual olive branch to my tour when it started, the Reputation Stadium Tour, a while ago," Swift explained. "From that point on we`ve been on good terms," the 29-year-old singer added.

The pop star recalled how she and Perry sorted out everything, something Perry made a reference to when she shared a picture of a plate of chocolate chip cookies with the words "Peace at last" written in red icing. "Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things, and then we saw each other again and hung out at another party and it was just like something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us," the songstress added.

Swift also revealed that she and Perry have been on good terms for a while but wanted to make sure they were "solid" before announcing their reconciliation. "And, you know, she and I have been fine for a while and really on good terms but we didn`t know if we were ever gonna really tell people about it. We wanted to make sure that was solid between us before we ever made the public aware," she said.

On Monday, Perry shared photos from her time on set of Swift`s latest music video, making a reference to their friendship. "This meal is BEEF-free," the star captioned photos of herself dressed in the burger dress she sported at the 2019 Met Gala.

Apart from these singers, Taylor Swift penned a letter to Senator Lamar Alexander urging them to consider increased protections for the community.

The singer wrote the letter on Friday night asking the senator to support the community as well as the equality act, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Not just this, the 29-year-old singer even donated a generous amount of USD 113,000 to an organisation called Tennessee Equality Project (TEP) in April to lend some support towards the community.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots of 1969 that inspired the creation of Pride month.

The riots were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations by members of the gay (LGBT) community against a police raid which occurred in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York City.

The event is widely considered to constitute the most important event leading to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States.

Pride Month: From Mariah Carey to Dua Lipa, Hollywood stars pour in wishes for LGBTQ community

American pop singer Katy Perry has dropped a new solo track `Never Really Over`, over two years since her last solo track `Bon Appetite` was out.

The song is shot near Malibu by Philippa Price. In the video, Katy can be seen sporting long blonde hair and undergoing all sorts of quirky therapies to recover from heartbreak.

In the video, Katy can be seen sporting long blonde hair and undergoing all sorts of quirky therapies to recover from heartbreak. Ultimately, she finds her happiness flapping about in a butterfly-effect dress with a cult in a park, reports Billboard. Perry sings, "I`m losing my self-control/ Yeah, you start and I trickle back in/ But I don`t wanna fall down the rabbit hole Cross my heart, I won`t do it again." Katy`s `365` co-singer Zedd is the producer along with Dreamlab, and the EDM star Dan Haywood, Leah Haywood, Dagny, Gino Barletta, Michelle Buzz, Jason Gill, Hayley Warner and, of course, Katy, were the co-writers.
Publishers representing the writers of songs by Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood and hundreds of other artists sued Peloton Interactive Inc on Tuesday, accusing the maker of video-streaming stationary bicycles of copyright infringement.

In a complaint filed in Manhattan federal court, the 10 publishers are seeking more than $150 million in damages, accusing Peloton of exploiting their songs by using more than 1,000 in its videos without permission.

They said Peloton must stop "trampling" their rights by using their songs for free. They noted that the company having obtained song licenses from other publishers showed it "fully understood what the copyright law required."

Peloton, in a statement, said it is reviewing the complaint. It also said it has "great respect for songwriters and artists," and has "invested heavily to build a best-in-breed reporting and licensing system."

The New York-based company is expected to seek a more than $4 billion valuation in an initial public offering that could occur in the second half of 2019, The Wall Street Journal said.
Founded in 2012, Peloton sells bicycles starting at $2,245, in packages that it said require signing up for memberships to access live and on-demand classes for cycling, running, yoga and other activities. Access to unlimited classes costs $39 a month.

The 10 music publishers include Big Deal Music, Downtown Music Publishing, Ole, Peermusic, Pulse Music Publishing, Reservoir, The Richmond Organization, Round Hill, Royalty Network and Ultra Music.

They said Peloton`s infringements cover songs by a who`s who of the music industry, such as the unauthorised use of Rihanna`s "Umbrella" in at least 55 workout videos.

The list of alleged infringements includes such songs as Mars` "Grenade," Perry`s "Roar," Timberlake`s "SexyBack" and Underwood`s "Before He Cheats."

Singer Kesha, in a text message to fellow singer Lady Gaga, has accused former collaborator Dr. Luke of raping singer Katy Perry, according to court documents filed here. Dr. Luke`s representative has denied the allegation. Obtained by a website, the documents are a part of the ongoing defamation case between Kesha and Luke.

The documents reportedly contain Luke`s refutation of three of Kesha`s claims against him -- previously known allegations that he gave the singer drugs against her will and that he raped her, as well as the previously undisclosed claim that he raped Perry. The news was first reported by publication The Blast.

The claim was revealed in a text message sent from Kesha to Lady Gaga, according to the documents, which read in part: "On February 26, 2016 (Kesha) sent a text message to Stefani Germanotta (Lady Gaga) which repeated (Kesha`s) false claim that (Luke) had raped her.

"(Kesha) also falsely asserted that (Luke) had also raped Kathryn Hudson (Katy Perry)Following this text message conversation, and with (Kesha`s) encouragement, (Gaga) spread negative messages about (Luke) in the press and on social media."

Previously, the existence of the text message had been publicly discussed, but its contents have been revealed for the first time.

The documents also reportedly said Perry has been deposed as part of the lawsuit, although there is no indication of what she said. Perry has never publicly accused Luke of sexual misconduct, although she has not worked with him professionally for several years.

In a statement, Luke`s legal team denied the accusations detailed in the court documents.

"Katy Perry herself confirmed that Dr. Luke did not rape her. Kesha`s accusation to the contrary - just like her other outrageous lies about Dr. Luke - is baseless and irresponsible, and it is disrespectful to both Katy Perry and Dr. Luke. In his defamation lawsuit against Kesha, Dr. Luke seeks damages for the harm caused by these malicious falsehoods."

Luke`s defamation lawsuit against Kesha the last remaining suit in a legal battle that began in 2014 when the pop star went public with claims that the producer had abused her. That year, Luke filed a complaint against Kesha for failing to work on a third album as required under her contract.

Kesha filed a countersuit, seeking to be released from the contract on the basis of allegations that Luke had raped her and verbally abused her over the course of several years. The courts have ruled against Kesha in every attempt to extricate herself from her contracts with him and his label, and last year she released an album, "Rainbow," on the label containing several songs that obliquely reference her battles with the producer.

Indian-origin singer becomes Katy Perry's 'hero' after American Idol audition

Katy Perry has landed herself in controversy after she kissed a 19-year-old contestant while auditioning for American Idol. The contestant Benjamin Glaze stated he was not exactly thrilled about the kiss but later clarified that he didn't think was sexually harassed by the singer.

During Glaze's audition, fellow judge Luke Bryan joked around with the contestant and referenced Katy's song "I Kissed a Girl".

Glaze then revealed that he had never kissed a girl before and would not do that without being in a relationship.

Perry then called Glaze over to the table motioning for a kiss. Glaze asked, "One on the cheek?" and gave her a kiss on the face but the singer quickly planted one on his lips. After his audition, Glaze told the New York Times in an interview that he was not exactly thrilled about the kiss.

"I was a tad bit uncomfortable. I wanted to save it for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special. Would I have done it if she said, 'Would you kiss me?' No, I would have said no," he had said.

"I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special," Glaze had said.

The 19-year-old contestant states the kiss made him 'uncomfortable'

The moment became viral on social media, with many people labelling it as a "forced sexual act".
