'Pathaan' promotes the brand of Shah Rukh Khan to the hilt. &nbsp;He may be called Pathaan on screen, but he is a man who is devoid of any religion and is ok to befriend the enemy if it means saving his motherland. For fans of the actor, the film makes SRK almost a superhero as he returns to the big screen after 4 long years.&nbsp;<br />

Some general from the neighbouring country was to avenge the abomination of sector 370 from Kashmir and has asked to wipe off India's population via a lab-made virus (a nod to COVID-19) that can kill people instantly once infected. The Indian intelligence calls back Pathaan, a spy who has been MIA for two years. Pathaan is a daredevil who had once created a special task force with army officers who had retired due to war injuries. He got caught during a covert operation in Russia, where the Indian government refused to take responsibility for him and left him to die- as is the norm for special agents. Two years on, as he comes back to abort mission Raktbeej, he takes the help of ex-ISI agent Rubia (Deepika Padukone) to thwart Jim's plan. Mind you, Rubia had once double-crossed him and helped Jim acquire the said virus from a lab in Russia for further tests but Pathaan is also a kind-hearted man who believes in giving second chances and so two agents from India and Pakistan join hands to thwart a mission that can lead to the death of lakhs of people.</p>

Instead, Khan performs some heavy-duty action stunts, and with aid of VFX, does some of the most unthinkable stunts with great comfort. Cinematically it provides for great viewing as you see Khan flex his muscles, show&nbsp;off his ripped abs and carefully unruly longish hair as he fights men double his size. Giving him company is John Abraham, who somewhat reprises his role as an anti-hero from 'Dhoom'. Abraham's Jim and Khan's Pathaan have had similar career trajectories but while Jim decided to go rogue, Pathaan sticks to loving and being loyal to his motherland. Jim is somewhat of a megalomaniac and ruthless while Pathaan is more forgiving and kind. The clash between the two is inevitable and the said scenes have been well choreographed and shot. Deepika Padukone gets to kick some butt&nbsp;but her role is limited. While she looks good, Padukone has not much to do in terms of acting. Its like watching her in 'Race 2', 10 years back. Padukone in the last decade has proved her mettle as a performer and 'Pathaan' never really does any justice to her.&nbsp;<br />

The story is paper thin and the first half especially slackens as the narrative goes back and forth constantly making it slightly confusing. The pace picks up post-interval when the actual plot of the film is established. There is a long-drawn action sequence featuring Pathaan and Tiger (Salman Khan) who fight the bad guys on a moving train. Stuff made of dreams quite literally as one gets to watch the Hindi film industry's two superstars Salman and Shah Rukh Khan fight together with the bad guys to save the nation. The scene is one of the highlights of 'Pathaan', and it's a sheer delight to watch the two Khans together on screen. &nbsp;In an attempt to provide multiple twists, often the story loses logic and a suspension of disbelief is expected from the viewers throughout.&nbsp;</p>

The film is scheduled to release in two weeks, and the producers Yash Raj Films unveiled the official trailer of 'Pathaan' on social media on Tuesday. The trailer gives a glimpse of an action-packed film which will have Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone performing high-octane stunts similar to several iconic Hollywood action films.&nbsp;<br />

'Pathaan' trailer is over 2 minutes long and opens with Dimple Kapadia's character narrating that a terror group called Outfit X is targeting to plan a terrorist attack of giant proportions in India. Its leader, John Abharam is shown to send a warning message to the Indian Intelligence that they will have to race against time to save their country. It's then that former spy Pathaan (SRK) is brought back from his self-imposed exile to save his country. 'Pathaan' controversy</h2>

<p>Ever since the first song- Besharam Rang- was released online in December 2022, 'Pathaan' has been courting controversies as certain groups had raised objection to Deepika Padukone's saffron bikini. The CBFC has since then asked makers for 10 cuts in the film which they deemed as inappropriate. Certain names and terminologies have been changed in the film. Thank god, Gautam only exists in cinema, because in real life the man would have either been in jail or in some mental health therapy centre for being this strange.&nbsp;</p>

Is Gautam responsible for the killing of Aarvi or has Bhairav done the crime forms the rest of the story.&nbsp;<br />

Why doesn't anyone get hurt or break a limb despite being thrown from heights, pushed against glass windows and hung from moving trains? Why do the women in this universe always cheat the men? Why are the men always the jilted lovers? Why does this movie even exist?</p>

In 'Ek Villain Returns', the women are always using the men. To get fame, to satisfy their sexual needs, to satiate their psychotics behaviour. So excuse these men if they turn psycho, okay? Because it is ok to brutally kill women as they have been hurt by other women. They are the victims, not the women. 'Ek Villain Returns' in a way glorifies the aggression of jilted lovers. And hey we can't put the blame on cinema for glorifying abuse, right? Who even takes films seriously these days?<br />

Mohit Suri's films usually have soulful numbers and this one too has some beautiful numbers. Not all of them make sense in the film's narrative but hey we are not supposed to look for logic here, right?&nbsp;<br />

With terrible editing, child-like VFX and action sequences inspired by several Korean action films, 'Ek Villain Returns' feels like a bad early 2000 action film that was the norm in Bollywood two decades ago. The film is as ridiculous as the innumerable FIRs that are being lodged against Ranveer Singh for his viral photos.&nbsp;</p>

'Ek Villain Returns' movie review: As ridiculous as the FIRs against Ranveer Singh's viral photos

<p>A couple of days ago, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh sent the internet into a frenzy with his nude photoshoot for a magazine. Twitterati had a field day as they shared memes on the micro-blogging site with Ranveer's viral snaps. The actor received praises and criticism in equal measure for posing nude.&nbsp;John Abraham, while promoting his upcoming film 'Ek Villain Returns' in New Delhi was asked to react on Ranveer Singh's viral photo shoot. Abraham candidly revealed that he too had some nude scenes in 'Dostana' that were edited out in the post-production stage.</p>

<p>When a media person asked John and Arjun Kapoor to comment on <strong>Ranveer Singh's viral nude photoshoot</strong>, Arjun said, "Ranveer is a person who is known for his personality. He is someone who stays true to himself and never pretends to be someone else.&nbsp;If he is happy doing what he is doing and if it’s done aesthetically and if it is something that is coming from a genuine place to showcase how comfortable he is with his body then&nbsp; none of us should have a problem with that."</p>

<p>Arjun further added that Ranveer&nbsp;has every right to entertain people in whichever way he seems fit and all of us should accept it as a part of his expression and move on.</p>

<p>Adding to Arjun's answer, John Abraham said, "I've also wanted to tell you that there are a lot of edited portions of '<strong>Dostana' that have had nude scenes</strong>." And, when&nbsp;I watched&nbsp;the film, I found it very interesting. And, I think the audience will enjoy it. Also, it's not just about being a villain, it's about their journey and how they faced problems that changed them or impacted them."</p>

<p>Adding to the same, Arjun Kapoor shared, "I have played a grey character even in my first film 'Ishaqzaade' but ya, in this film, my character wants to be dark and his ideology is that he can die but not lose. And, he is okay being a villain in people's lives. So, for me, it was the extreme version of grey and that's taking things to a whole new level for me."</p>

<p>At the press conference, <strong>Ekta Kapoor also slammed Youtuber Kamaal R. Khan</strong> for claiming that&nbsp;'Ek Villan Returns' is a remake of a Korean film. She denied KRK's claims and said that the movie is not a remake of any film and that she had to ask for the film's script for Rohit Shetty because he was already thinking of making the&nbsp;film. However, at Ekta's request, Rohit Shetty handed over the script to Ekta and Mohit Suri since it fits better with the 'Ek Villan' franchise.&nbsp;"I don’t know what Korean Mr KRK is watching. But he seems to know more than I know I do I think," Kapoor said.</p>

"I have loved my association with Arjun, with Varun (Dhawan, in Dishoom), with Abhishek (Bachchan, in Dhoom). With Akshay I have done 3 films, I love him to death. And I think he’s probably right to an extent. But I think there are places where you can work with two, or three actors, maybe you can’t make an Oceans 11, you can make an 'Oceans 3' or 'Oceans 4', you know what I’m saying? So I think we can make things happen, and the new generation, the younger lot is more willing, I’m assuming. So I don’t see that as an issue," John said.</p>

Arjun starts preparing as the threat from dreaded terrorist Hamid Gul looms large- who according to intelligence- is preparing an attack. By the time Arjun somewhat trains, the parliament is attacked and the PM of India is taken under siege along with other MPS by Hamid Gul. Now it is upon Arjun to save his country from a deadly chemical bomb and also save the country's leader.&nbsp;<br />

'Attack' cleverly merges science and nationalism along with high octane action stunts to provide a slick entertainer. Of course, a lot of the plot points require suspense of disbelief but the film works because of its execution. Less jargons and more Abraham is his physical best, the film doesn't waste too much time in coming to the main plot.&nbsp;<br />
Well edited, the film never delves deeper into any of the characters, instead just focuses on the main plot. Which is good, as it presents several stylised action sequences which only the film's leading man John Abraham can pull off seamlessly.&nbsp;</p>

Abraham pulls the film on his able shoulder and it is a refreshing change to see him, deep dive, into a character who has been trained to kill. Of course, his character is fighting for his country but&nbsp;unlike his recent outings, the chest-thumping nationalism is at a minimal level. There is also Ratna Pathak Shah, Prakash Raj and Rajit Kapur - all of them play credible parts in the film.&nbsp;<br />

Abraham appeared on Shilpa Shetty's fitness show on radio 'Shape Of You' where Shetty as a host revealed to the viewers how Abraham had stayed away from his favourite sweet, Kaju Katli (made of cashews, sugar and condensed milk) for nearly 25 years. Abraham was quick to respond with, "I think that is false. It has been 27 years. It has been a long time. I do not have aerated drinks. I believe, and I guess, you do the same, that sugar is the biggest poison in the world, more than cigarette smoking."<br />

<p>‘Attack’ is set to release in cinemas on April 1, 2022. Helmed by Lakshya Raj Anand, Part 1 of 'Attack' is a big-ticket franchise based on a world where future wars will be fought on technology and artificial intelligence.</p>

John Abraham becomes India's first super soldier in new trailer of 'Attack'

<p>Shah Rukh Khan fans, rejoice! The actor finally unveiled the first teaser of his upcoming film 'Pathan' on Tuesday on social media. Although the teaser only shows Khan's&nbsp;silhouette briefly and features his co-actors John Abraham and Deepika Padukone prominently, the teaser is enough to excite fans of the superstar who have been waiting eagerly for the actor's new film.&nbsp;<br />

Khan was last seen in 'Zero' which was released in December 2018. The film had a dismal performance at the box office and was panned by critics. Since then, SRK has not appeared in any film. He has produced several films as well as web series but hasn't acted in any film so far.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
'Pathan' reunites Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan after Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' which was released in 2016. Deepika had made her film debut opposite SRK in 'Om Shanti Om' in 2008. 'Pathan' also features John Abraham in a prominent role.</p>

But it’s also the harsh reality of modern India where every day a new scum and a scam is unearthed. Every week one more newly constructed bridge falls, and every day a child gets raped(these statistics are dubious, just like the Indian politics and bureaucracy).</p>

<p>Meet &nbsp;Zaveri’s twin heroes Jay and Satya, both played by John Abraham and hence hard to tell apart besides one wearing spectacles and the other showing his muscles. Jay is a &nbsp;cop who reaches on time every time a criminal act is about to occur. In his introductory sequence when the molester challenges him to present himself without his khaki uniform, Jay happily whips off his shirt and does a muscled ramp walk right there on the streets.</p>

<p>The advantage of having John Abraham as your leading man is that the hero can strip anywhere anytime without looking awkward. Jay’s twin brother &nbsp;Satya is a fully buttoned-up solemn stone-faced politician whose anti-corruption bill gets booed down in parliament.</p>

<p>But never mind. He can go out on the streets and kill every potential socio-political offender without batting an eyelid. And that includes highly corrupt fellow politicians who feed contaminated food to little children in madrasas…</p>

<p>Dangerous territory, you say? <em>Fiqar</em> not! &nbsp;Milap Zaveri loves every community, every religion…every sector of Indian society get a &nbsp;voice in the narrative. When an evil bureaucrat flings the Holy Quran in the air, our hero catches it. When a woman is fatally injured a &nbsp;Sikh Man(played by the ever-dependable Gopal Dutt) undoes his turban and uses it as a bandage…I am sure there is a Christian and Parsi act of good samaritans somewhere in this “16,000 feet long celluloid flag”(a picturesque description of &nbsp;Manoj Kumar’s paean to patriotism &nbsp;Upkar) which I &nbsp;must have missed. Or maybe Milap has saved them up for Part 3 and 4.</p>

<p>'Satyameva &nbsp;Jayate 2' &nbsp;is a &nbsp;bigger, &nbsp;bloodier, &nbsp;bulldozer of an anti-corruption film than Part 1. Striking doctors are struck dead, conniving cops come to a sticky end, and ruthless businessmen are burnt to death. In the second half when we are introduced to a third John Abraham(yes there’re &nbsp;3 of them) Zaveri feels the going to be too heavy-handed. So he introduces some comedy into the relentless acts of vigilantism.</p>

<p>How? You may ask. Please don’t. There are things that Milap Zaveri can do that no filmmaker can dream of. Not even Zaveri’s role models Manmohan &nbsp;Desai and Rakesh Roshan. The ‘comedy vigilanteism’ features a sleazy cop being beaten black and blue by our hero while the cop laughs his head off, “As if part &nbsp;2 of a hit franchise is going on, ”someone comments.You get the reference?</p>

<p>My second-favourite performance in this violent ode to vigilantism is by the cop in the comedy scene played by Arpit Mishra. But my most favourite performer this time is a &nbsp;young Marathi actress named &nbsp;Bhagyashree Limaye who rips the screen apart as a gang rape victim screaming and burning for justice. I think she gets the high-pitched&nbsp;<em>sur&nbsp;</em>of &nbsp;Milap Zaveri’s melodrama better than anyone else.</p>

<p>&nbsp;And there is &nbsp;Divya Khosla &nbsp;Kumar playing the politician-vigilante hero’s wife. In a product bursting with clamorous flag-wavers, she is comfortingly serene.</p>

<p>Everyone gets to sprout Milap Zaveri’s rhyming couplets that serve as dialogues. It is all about tann-mann-dhann…jana gana mann… A message with a whole lot of fun.</p>

'Satyameva Jayate 2' review: Highpitched, high-energy flag waving melodrama

<p>Did Shah Rukh Khan have a premonition about the crisis that has now befallen his family? How else do we explain the fact that he signed no films after 2018’s 'Zero' for the&nbsp;next two years so that now when he cannot work there is only one pending assignment that has been affected by the crisis.</p>
