On Sunday, Kumar posted a photo from the success bash of 'Housefull 4' which features actors Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Chunky Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez and Abhishek Bachchan along with Kumar and the film's producer Sajid Nadiadwala. 'Pagalpanti' trailer: John Abraham and Anil Kapoor promises to take on a laughter ride

<p>Bollywood superstar John Abraham has unveiled the first look poster of 'Satyamev Jayate 2'&nbsp;- the second installment of his action-packed 2018 hit - which certainly seems promising in terms of a bigger sequel on offer for movie buffs.<br />
<br />
In the poster, the actor is tearing off his cop uniform to reveal the Indian national flag on his chest. The 'Dishoom'&nbsp;actor said the film's aim is to entertain the audience with a relevant story.<br />
<br />
"I genuinely enjoyed the story and telling of the original film. I could tell it was a story that the audience will find engaging. With SMJ2, the aim, once again, is to entertain the audience with a story that's relevant in today's times," John said.<br />
<br />
He shared the poster on Twitter and wrote, "The truth prevails AGAIN!! Returning next Gandhi Jayanti, October 2nd, 2020".<br />
<br />
In the first part, John played the role of a vigilante who goes on a corrupt cop-killing spree, this time he is paired with Divya Khosla Kumar for the sequel.</p>

John Abraham gears up for his next film 'Attack'

<p>John Abraham has in the recent past become synonymous to nationalistic films. He has been part of films like 'Madras Cafe', 'Parmanu' and 'RAW'- all have had him playing a national hero. His upcoming film 'Batla House' also has him playing an encounter specialist.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The trailer was released on Wednesday and has John playing a tough cop. The film is a recreation of the Batla House encounter and immediately proceeds to the aftermath. Fans can catch a glimpse of John essaying the role of a decorated cop and wearing his bulletproof jacket, and watch as his teammates ruthlessly firing down suspects.<br />
<br />
The trailer at one point tags the film as `Inspired by true events, Labelled as untrue.` The trailer is a fictional depiction of the events that took place during the day of the encounter and the widespread criticism that followed after the encounter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>John`s character in the film faces a lot of criticism over the encounter but this does not stop him from investigating the matter deeply.&nbsp;At one point of time in the trailer, the actor even gets conferred with a medal for his work.</p>

<p>As John Abraham and Akshay Kumar gear up to lock horns this Independence Day, John had something very interesting to say about their filmy clash. Giving a call back to his famous song with Akshay in a film they did together, he said, "Make some noise for the desi boys" from the film ‘Desi Boyz’.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He then added, "Honestly, if there was a controversy, I would have loved to create it, but Akshay and I are very dear friends, we really get along. In fact, just the other day we texted each other. There is absolutely nothing there. <p>When asked if he is concerned about the division of business between the three films, he said, "It doesn't concern me about the other two films but it concerns me about my film. We have done the math and we still want to release on this day. More importantly, it is not overconfidence. I have a lot of respect for every other film, I am very confident that Nikhil has made a fantastic film. So, we are coming on a good day."</p>

The teaser starts with a voiceover saying "firing is going on and sir has been injured with two bullets. Two boys.." with visual of heartbeat pulse changing constantly playing on the screen.</p>

<p>Next, the teaser features scenes from the film including firing sequences and the sound of gunshots.<br />

'Batla House' teaser out: John Abraham unravels truth behind encounter

<p>Bollywood director Sanjay Gupta has now signed up John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi for his next gangster film. Famous for giving the industry some of the most recent gangsters flicks like ‘Shootout at Wadala’, ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Kaabil’ and more, he is back to woo the audience with his latest offering.</p>

<p>The new film will be set in the 1980s and 1990s when Bombay became Mumbai. The time period saw many mills shutting down, the murder of a key businessman, a developing nexus between politicians, cops, the underworld and the business fraternity.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sanjay as he introduced the film said that the plot is very close to him and that it had a special place in his life. The film, as reported in Mumbai Mirror, will be a two-hero film.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sanjay said, “It's my 3rd outing with John and I'm super excited to work with Emraan, I have always wanted to work with him and I am back to my base of filmmaking, gangster dramas and all I can say is...It's Good to be Home.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>The filmmaker will also co-produce the film with Bhushan Kumar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It will go on floors this July and is scheduled to wrap up by the end of the year.</p>

Over the years, as Kumar has moved to more social -issue-based films, this template has been taken over by John Abraham.</p>

<p>The past few releases of the actor have had him playing characters who are always more than eager to prove their love for the nations. He can be a scientist, a cop or a spy- all the characters have more or less the same structure. His latest, 'Romeo Akbar Walter' also falls into the same category.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Directed by Robbie Grewal, the film sets out to be an espionage thriller. The story is set in 1971 a little before India and Pakistan went on war and Bangladesh was created. The same backdrop was used in 2018's hit, Meghna Gulzar's spy thriller 'Raazi'. But unlike Gulzar's film, which was taut and gripping till the end, Abraham's latest falters and is not even half as exciting.</p>

<p>Sure, the film has few sharp moments, some very interesting twists and some credible performances from actors like Raghuveer Yadav and Sikander Kher (who gets the accent of a Punjabi ISI officer quite accurately) but ultimately the film suffers because of outright ridiculous cliches that have now become a norm in every spy film in this country. And while Jackie Shroff who plays RAW chief categorically mentions to Abraham at the beginning of the film that how he would need to read in between the lines, the narrative overexerts itself explaining minutest of the things. There are plenty of loopholes in the plot, with scenes lacking logic (the way Abraham is selected for the mission is outright ridiculous). Dialogues are spruced with 'Watan, Desh and Mitti' and there are also montages of the moments shared with a family member for the emotional quotient but instead of evoking any kind of emotions, it evokes headaches at the cliches that are far too many.&nbsp;</p>

Perhaps, they didn't want to tire their facial muscles too much.&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Romeo Akbar Walter' could have been an engaging watch but it simply lacks the thrill. It doesn't evoke any sense of pride or emotions, it induces sleep instead. &nbsp;</p>
