Hamas: The undeniable face of terrorism in Israel

<p>The Indian Embassy on Saturday (Oct 7) issued an advisory asking all its nationals to “remain vigilant” and “observe safety protocols” after hundreds of rockets were launched from the blockaded Gaza Strip towards Israel creating a war-like situation.</p>

<p>“In view of the current situation in Israel, all Indian nationals in Israel are requested to remain vigilant and observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities. Please exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement, and stay close to safety shelters,” the Embassy said in its advisory.</p>

<p>The advisory also provided relevant contact information and URLs for Israeli Home Front Command and Preparedness brochures in case of emergency.</p>

<p>There are about 18,000 Indian citizens in Israel, primarily caregivers employed by Israeli elders, diamond traders, IT professionals and students, as per the details mentioned on the website of the Indian Embassy.</p>

We have been in this since the early morning hours. I convened the heads of the security establishment and ordered – first of all – to clear out the communities that have been infiltrated by terrorists," Netanyahu said.</p>

<p>"This currently is being carried out. At the same time, I have ordered an extensive mobilisation of reserves and that we return fire of a magnitude that the enemy has not known. The enemy will pay an unprecedented price. In the meantime, I call on the citizens of Israel to strictly adhere to the directives of the army and Home Front Command. <p>The Israeli army, meanwhile, said that assailants hurled Molotov cocktails at a military post adjacent to the Psagot, next to El-Bireh. "Soldiers... identified the suspects and responded with live fire," the army said, adding two assailants were neutralised and transferred to receive medical treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>'A heroic martyr,' say&nbsp;Hamas</strong></h2>

<p>The Israeli army issued a statement claiming that "in response to the rocket fired toward Israeli territory, IDF fighter jets targeted overnight (Sunday) a weapons manufacturing site belonging to the Hamas terrorist organisation."</p>

<p>According to the statement, the target was a location "where the majority of the organisation's rockets in the Gaza Strip are being manufactured."</p>
