After almost two years of the Hamas attack, a new report has emerged, stating that the terror group aimed to derail "normalisation" talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia by launching October 7 attacks and pushing Gaza into war.Hamas chief and Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar allegedly told his men that an “extraordinary act” was needed to stop Israel and Saudi Arabia from reaching an agreement, The Wall Street Journal report revealed.Notably, Sinwar was killed last year by the Israeli military. He feared that such a deal between Israel and Saudi would undermine Hamas' cause for the destruction of Israel and the creation of a Palestinian state. The terror group chief ordered his men to immediately prepare for the attack they have been waiting on for two years, according to the new set of documents recovered by the Israeli army. The documents were allegedly found in a tunnel beneath Gaza. According to that, a deal between the two nations would be a game-changer for political dynamics in the Middle East.It further pointed to a pivotal meeting of Hamas's political leadership that took place just five days before the attack.“There is no doubt that the Saudi-Zionist normalization agreement is progressing significantly,” Sinwar allegedly said at the time, warning that the deal would “open the door for the majority of Arab and Islamic countries to follow the same path.”He added, the goal is "to bring about a major move or a strategic shift in the paths and balances of the region with regard to the Palestinian cause".Notably, Saudi officials have been pushing for a two-state solution as a condition for formally recognising Israel as an ally nation, which would mean that the Palestinian territory would be recognised as an independent entity.Hamas' October 7 attack killed over 1000 people in Israel and the retaliatory attacks on Gaza killed more than 53,000 people on the other side. Also read: Hamas agrees to Gaza ceasefire proposal by US envoy

In a statement by the GHF, executive director Jake Wood said he felt compelled to leave after determining the organization could not fulfil its mission in a way that adhered to humanitarian principles. Israel has faced global condemnation over the conditions in Gaza, where it has been at war since Hamas's unprecedented October 7, 2023 attack.
Moral Dichotomy of the USA

The moral dichotomy of the United States has baffled many.
"It is American bombs and American military equipment which is being used to destroy Gaza", said Bernie Sanders, US senator from Vermont.
It is to be noted that earlier in April, the United States approved the sale of $8.8 billion worth of military aid to Israel. In 2024, only the United States provided $18 billion in military aid to Israel.
On one hand, the United States is consistently arming Israel, on the other hand, it is pretending to be a well-wisher for Gaza among Arab nations. According to one UN official, Israel has "weaponised aid".
Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has asked the United States to start distributing "secure aid" to the Gaza Strip. Israel will facilitate the distribution, and it will be funded by the United States.

Gaza rescuers said at least 80 people were killed in Israeli bombardment across the Palestinian territory on Wednesday, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to US envoy Steve Witkoff about the release of hostages.
Negotiations for the release of the captives held in Gaza have been ongoing, with the latest talks taking place in the Qatari capital Doha, where US President Donald Trump was visiting on Wednesday.
Netanyahu's office said the premier had discussed with Witkoff and his negotiating team "the issue of the hostages and the missing".
Witkoff later said Trump had "a really productive conversation" with the Qatari emir about a Gaza deal, adding that "we are moving along and we have a good plan together".
Fighting meanwhile raged in Gaza, where civil defence official Mohammed al-Mughayyir told AFP 80 people had been killed by Israeli bombardment since dawn, including 59 in the north.
AFP footage from the aftermath of a strike in Jabalia, northern Gaza, showed mounds of rubble and twisted metal from collapsed buildings. Palestinians, including young children, picked through the debris in search of belongings.
Footage of mourners in northern Gaza showed women in tears as they kneeled next to bodies wrapped in bloodstained white shrouds.
"It's a nine-month-old baby. What did he do?" one of them cried out.
Hasan Moqbel, a Palestinian who lost relatives, told AFP: "There are no homes fit for living. I have no shelter, no food, no water. Those who don't die from air strikes die from hunger, and those who don't die from hunger die from lack of medicine."

The Vatican has confirmed that it was Pope Francis' final wish for the Popemobile to be used for the good of Gazan children.

Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, slammed EU leadership for supporting Israel’s “war crimes” in Gaza. She said they should be held accountable for this act.
In an interview with news outlet The Intercept, Albanese urged European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to use her executive powers to stop the “genocide” in Gaza. She also criticised Kaja Kallas, EU’s top diplomat, for not laying enough emphasis and pressurising Israel to end its military operation during her visit to Tel Aviv in March. Kallas also said that “both sides lose” in the conflict.
