Despite the US Constitution's strict limit on presidential terms, Trump has often dropped hints—sometimes in jest, sometimes provocatively—about extending his stay in the White House. In January 2025, speaking in Miami, Florida, at an event for GOP Members of the US Congress, the Republican president seemed to toy with the idea of a third term and commented that he was "not 100 per cent sure" if he was barred from running again. A year later, in January 2026, while kicking off a new round of rallies ahead of the upcoming November Midterms, he returned to a familiar provocation, joking about running for a constitutionally barred third term. “Should we do it a fourth time?” he asked, referring to his false claim that he won the 2020 election. Protesters interrupted the speech at least twice. Trump waved them off as “sickos” and “paid insurrectionists.” Also read | Abigail Spanberger accuses Trump admin of 'unprecedented corruption' in Democratic response to State of the Union addressBefore that, during a rally in Nevada, he said, "It will be the greatest honour in my life to serve not once, but twice -- or three times or four times," followed by a laugh and cheers from his supporters.
What does the US Constitution say about third presidential term?
The US Constitution stipulates 'Term Limits for the Presidency' and strictly limits presidents to two terms. US President Donald Trump once again claimed that he ended eight wars, including the India-Pakistan conflict, following the Pahalgam terror attack last year. In his State of the Union address, he said, “In my first 10 months, I ended eight wars… including Pakistan and India, which would have been a nuclear war. Thirty-five million people said the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have died if it were not for my involvement.”

US President Donald Trump, during his State of the Union speech on February 24, introduced the “Delilah law” to ban commercial driving licenses for undocumented immigrants. This is merely a legislative proposal, not a law yet. President Donald Trump, since the beginning of his second term, accelerated efforts to address immigration-related issues and weaponised it on various instances. "We will pass the Delilah Law that will bar illegal aliens from getting a commercial driver's license," said Trump in his statement.
What Is the ‘Delilah Law’?
President Donald Trump, in his speech, called upon Congress to pass a law that would bar all states from allowing undocumented immigrants to obtain commercial driving licenses. Commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) are licenses required to operate heavy vehicles such as 18-wheelers or buses weighing more than 10,000 lbs.
Why is it called the ‘Delilah Law’?
US President Donald Trump referred to the proposed legislation as the “Delilah Law”, named after Dalilah Coleman, then 5 years old, who was severely injured after an accident involving her family's car and trailer tractor.
What did Trump say during SOTU 2026?
Trump, in the 2026 State of the Union speech, said that most of the "illegal immigrants" did not know English and couldn't recognise basic signs. He further accused Joe Biden of letting in the “illegal immigrant", which caused the accident. Now, 7-year-old Delilah Coleman was among the audience along with her father, Marcus. Trump called her an “inspiration”"Many, if not most, illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs," said Trump. He continued, "That's why tonight I'm calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Delilah law, barring any state from granting commercial driver's licences to illegal aliens."
How CDLs Currently Work in the US?
The state authorities are responsible for issuing CDLs under the guidelines set by the Department of Transport of the Federal Government. Any applicant must provide proof of training from a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) certified training provider. They must also pass the written test, as well medical and skill test. The Federal government, on February 13, introduced an administrative rule that made it illegal to provide CDLs to undocumented immigrants. Earlier, CDLs were issued based on only an Employment Authorisation Document (EAD) for asylum seekers, but now it is allowed for only specific visas like H-2A (agricultural), H-2B (non-agricultural), or E-2 (treaty investor). US President Donald Trump is urging the congress to make it official by turning it into an federal law.

US President Donald Trump on February 24, 2026, made a legislative proposal to the congress to pass the Delilah law. This would effectively turn the administrative rule of ban of commercial driving licenses for undocumented immigrants into a federal law.

The Department of Justice withheld some Epstein files linked to allegations that President Donald Trump sexually abused a minor, an NPR investigation has revealed. More documents about Epstein were also removed from the public database where Trump was mentioned. NPR reported that there are still a few files that have not been made public despite the law calling for it. There are some 50 pages of FBI interviews and a particular one about a woman who accused Trump of abusing her as a minor years ago. Democrats on the House oversight and government reform committee announced on Tuesday that an investigation will be launched to investigate whether the DOJ deliberately held on to some files, which they say could be viewed as a crime. House Oversight Committee's ranking member, Rep. Robert Garcia, D-California, released a statement following the release of the report, stating that he had reviewed unredacted evidence logs. In his State of Union speech on Tuesday (Feb 24), US President Donald Trump called the Supreme Court ruling on tariffs as “unfortunate.” He praised his tariff regime, seemingly flaunting that tariff threat helped him settle many wars around the world. Trump said that his tariff regime is helping United States make a “lot of money” while the countries that have charged the US for years are not earning at the expense of America. He also claimed that his tariff regime aims to replace income tax and take away burden of people. The POTUS also stated that countries and co-operations that have signed a deal with the US want to continue with the deal despite the Supreme Court ruling because they are aware of his powers and that the next set of deal will be “far worse for them.” Slamming Supreme Court's “unfortunate involvement”, the POTUS said that his tariffs are saving and protecting the country and bringing peace. Also Read: Donald Trump compares himself to Lincoln and Kennedy, jokes not sure how long he will “be around”
Supreme Court ruling on tariffs
On February 20, the US Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that Trump does not have the authority to impose broad, open-ended tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The decision nullified the sweeping reciprocal tariffs and "fentanyl-related" levies imposed in early 2025. In his State of the Union address, Trump defended his tariff policies despite a Supreme Court setback, claiming they boost revenue and could replace income tax. He declared a “golden age of America,” touted economic gains, and said US enemies are fearful

The Court held that IEEPA is not a tariff statute and that the power to tax, including tariffs, resides solely with Congress. The decision nullified the sweeping reciprocal tariffs and "fentanyl-related" levies imposed in early 2025. Within hours of the ruling, President Trump invoked Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose a new 10% global surcharge for 150 days (effective Feb 24), later proposing to raise it to 15%. Trump began his State of Union speech on Tuesday (Feb 24) stating that it is the “golden age of America.” He then went on to rant over the condition of the country under his predecessor. He also declared that America is respected “like never before,” adding that America's enemies are scared. From fentanyl to gasoline to economy, Trump praised his administration's effort in making America the “hottest country in the world.” Trump's State of Union address First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump were present for the event. After Donald Trump ordered the release of all UFO-related files, an archive containing declassified US government files on the matter disappeared overnight. Black Vault is the place where the general public can access everything that has been released about alien discoveries and conspiracy theories over the last 80 years. Researcher and ufologist John Greenewald Jr, who runs it, was shocked to see that nearly 3.8 million files were removed on February 20. The data on the server spanned not only aliens and UFOs, but also included CIA projects, military reports, and even information linked to the assassination of JFK. Greenewald shared the discovery online and said that permissions to edit or access certain server directories and file ownership logs had been changed. The timing of the deletion has raised questions about whether it was deliberate or an accident.
What is Black Vault?
Black Vault contains government material obtained through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests over the years. Documents on previously undisclosed programmes and incidents linked to aliens, such as rumours that extraterrestrial spacecraft were recovered and studied by the US government, were organised on the website. Greenewald had gathered all this data through more than 11,000 FOIA requests made over nearly 30 years. The public could scan through information such as military base reports and witness testimonies on aliens. It even contained CIA directives from the 1940s and 50s as well. All this information was unsealed without widespread noise over the years. Greenewald also listed instances when the CIA and FBI rejected his FOIA requests. Also Read: Trump orders release of files on UFOs, aliens after accusing Obama of making a ‘big mistake’
Website host says files were not corrupted, but deleted
Even though Greenewald said in his online post that he does not suspect foul play, what is concerning is that the website hosting provider says it wasn't an error and someone deliberately deleted the files. What is most shocking is the fact that this happened merely hours after President Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to disclose anything related to "alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs)." Greenewald said, "[They] had no idea what happened, and on their side, they said it was a deletion, not corruption,' the researcher posted on Saturday."Also Read: ‘Aliens are real’: What former US president Barack Obama said about extraterrestrial and Area 51Also Read: Donald Trump has a speech prepared on aliens, his daughter-in-law says Greenewald's investigation shows that the US government created secret task forces of high-ranking military and scientific officials to research UFO incidents. He also provided clear paper trails to back the documents. The good news is that Greenewald has backed up all the data in secure locations, and the site was restored quickly.

A huge trove of data on aliens, UFOs and related conspiracy theories running into 3.8 billion files disappeared from a public archive hours after Donald Trump ordered full disclosure on the matter. It is not known whether it was deliberate or a mistake.
