According to IMD, thunderstorms with light rain showers are likely to occur in the national capital between May 16 and May 22. The city is also expected to experience heavy dust storms with wind speeds of about 30 to 40 km/h, which may reach 50 km/h in the evening or night.
The weather department has predicted similar weather conditions on May 17. On May 18 and May 19, cloudy skies are expected with winds but without significant rainfall.

"The people who are taking refuge in the night shelters here are being provided with two-time meals and proper bed and blankets. If there are any medical treatments needed, we take them to AIIMS hospital which is nearby.." said Singh.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport has begun special procedures to manage low visibility and keep the operations running smoothly. 
&ldquo;Low visibility procedures are in progress at Delhi airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," it said.&nbsp;
Flight tracking platforms showed over that 160 flights were delayed and three cancelled.
There was an average delay of nearly 30 minutes for departures and arrivals in Delhi.&nbsp;
Airlines such as Indigo, SpiceJet, and Air India have issued advisories, asking the guests to remain informed about the flight updates and timings and start early as slow traffic might delay the movement posed by the winter weather.&nbsp;

All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," it said. Flight tracking platforms showed over that 160 flights were delayed and three cancelled. There was an average delay of nearly 30 minutes for departures and arrivals in Delhi. Airlines such as Indigo, SpiceJet, and Air India have issued advisories, asking the guests to remain informed about the flight updates and timings and start early as slow traffic might delay the movement posed by the winter weather.
