Recruitment videos have continued into this year, with some offering generous incentives. One video promises a sign-up bonus of 2.3 million rubles ($27,000) and an annual salary of 5.2 million rubles ($62,000) to new recruits.

He added, &ldquo;Russia is reluctant to send their regular Slavic troops to charge on the front lines, so they spend money to recruit mercenaries for front-line charges, where survival chances are extremely low.&rdquo;
Some of the Chinese recruits have ended up in units like Storm-Z, known for sending fighters into high-risk missions. Reports from August showed two young Chinese men dying on their very first deployment with Storm-Z.
Families of Chinese fighters killed in action are reportedly owed 400,000 renminbi, just over $50,000. But reports say those payments are often delayed.
<h2>Contracts that never end</h2>
There are also claims that the Russian military has refused to release Chinese fighters at the end of their contracts.
&ldquo;We&rsquo;ll terminate your contract only after winning the war,&rdquo; one Chinese soldier recalled being told, during an interview with blogger Lei&rsquo;s Real World in July.
He added, &ldquo;Two of my men deserted. They are making every effort to capture them. If they are caught, they won&rsquo;t live for sure. So I can only wish the two deserters good luck.&rdquo;

Zelensky said he had instructed Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha to urgently contact Chinese officials for an explanation. &ldquo;I have instructed the foreign minister of Ukraine to immediately contact Beijing and find out how China is going to respond to this,&rdquo; he said.
Kyiv has also called on allies to respond. &ldquo;A reaction from the United States, Europe, and everyone in the world who wants peace&rdquo; is needed, Zelensky added.

According to Zelensky, there is evidence that the involvement of Chinese nationals is not limited to the two men captured. "We have information suggesting that there are many more Chinese citizens in the occupier's units than just these two. We are currently verifying all the facts&mdash;intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the relevant units of the Armed Forces are working on it," he said.
"Russia's involvement of China, along with other countries, whether directly or indirectly, in this war in Europe is a clear signal that Putin intends to do anything but end the war. He is looking for ways to continue fighting. This definitely requires a response," he added.

Taking to Truth Social, the US President said, "My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress."
"The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days," he added.

US President Donald Trump on Friday (April 04) extended the deadline for Chinese firm ByteDance Ltd. to divest TikTok’s US operations adding that his administration has been trying really hard to 'save' social media platform TikTok. Taking to Truth Social, the US President said, "My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress." "The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days," he added. "We hope to continue working in Good Faith with China, who I understand are not very happy about our Reciprocal Tariffs (Necessary for Fair and Balanced Trade between China and the U.S.A.!). This proves that Tariffs are the most powerful Economic tool, and very important to our National Security!," Trump said. A woman in China was so enraged at his property management company that she decided to exact revenge by literally paying them in pennies. She gave her dues of 650 yuan ($90) in the form of 6,000 coins to make them suffer for their bad service and behaviour, SCMP reported.
The incident in East China has become the talk of the town and the woman has gone viral on social media. The woman, surnamed Pi, lives in Jinan, Shandong province, said that the electricity supply to her flat was cut off on March 11. When she enquired, her residential community&rsquo;s property management company told her that she could not pay her electricity bill before she paid her outstanding dues. Only then will she get her power back on, she was told.

Pi took the money to pay her dues but the staff refused to accept the coins as payment and told her to deposit the money in the bank. She refused to comply and told them to accept the money or face police action
The staff then took the money and counted 6,000 coins over three hours and Pi remained in their office the entire time to keep an eye on them. Her power was later restored.
She detailed in the video how the property management company behaved every time she reached out to them with some problems. &ldquo;Often when I asked them to deal with some problems in our community, they responded by saying it was beyond their extent of jurisdiction. But they are so proactive in asking us to pay the fees," she said.
Pi further said that other people in the residential area had also paid in change in the past as a form of retaliation.

The effort to secure a pact was given new urgency last month when the UN nuclear watchdog said Iran had significantly increased its stockpile of highly enriched uranium.
Beijing hosted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov for talks on Friday it said it hoped would help "resume dialogue and negotiation at an early time".

And the US should demonstrate "political sincerity and return to talks at an early date", said a statement from Beijing's foreign ministry, which outlined propositions from China on the Iranian nuclear issue.
"All parties should... refrain from actions that might escalate the situation," the statement added.
<h2><hl2>'Peaceful' nuclear programme&nbsp;</hl2></h2>
Gharibabadi, in turn, hailed the "constructive" talks in Beijing and said Iran's nuclear programme "is peaceful in nature".
"Our nuclear programme has never been diverted to non-peaceful purposes," Gharibabadi said.
"But unfortunately, some countries are trying to create an unnecessary crisis in this regard."
"The main root cause of the current situation is the unilateral withdrawal of the United States," Gharibabadi said.
The Russian and Iranian officials met China's Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu earlier on Friday and "exchanged views on the Iran nuclear issue and other issues of common concern", Chinese state media said.
Ma reiterated after that meeting China's support for "political and diplomatic engagement and dialogue based on mutual respect".
"We emphasised the necessity of ending all illegal, unilateral sanctions," Ma told reporters.
"The relevant parties should work to eliminate the root causes of the current situation and abandon sanctions, pressure, and threats of the use of force."
Iran's ambassador to China said later on social media platform X the meeting was a "complete success".
The talks resulted in important agreements on "trilateral cooperation on important international issues, including the need for the three countries to cooperate in confronting" US sanctions, he said.
The Kremlin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday that "it is necessary to further continue diplomatic efforts" on Iran's nuclear programme, and condemned "illegal" sanctions against Tehran.
