"While this potential condition is not an immediate flight safety issue and all 737s can continue operating safely, we currently believe we will have to perform rework on about 50 undelivered airplanes," an issue that "could delay some near-term 737 deliveries."

Deal described it as "the only course of action" to deliver perfect aircraft to clients.

Boeing&nbsp;has struggled over the past year with difficulties on its star plane, the 737 MAX, culminating with a major in-flight safety incident on Alaska Airlines in early January that prompted a sweeping investigation by the regulating body the Federal Aviation Administration.

In his letter, Deal said employees offered suggestions on more than 1,000 improvements since a series of training events following the January 5 incident.

Boeing used to be the gold standard in aviation as it made some of the best airplanes over decades. The aviation giant may not enjoy the same degree of synonymity any more, especially after string of crashes and issues with its 737 series. Now a former senior official of the company&nbsp;has told media that he would 'absolutely not' travel on&nbsp;Boeing 737 Max series planes&nbsp;because of safety concerns.

“I would absolutely not fly a Max airplane,” said Ed Pierson, a former senior manager on the 737 program.

“I’ve worked in the factory where they were built, and I saw the pressure employees were under to rush the planes out the door. I tried to get them to shut down before the first crash,” he was quoted as saying by the LA Times.

Depressurisation of the cabin soon followed and objects began being sucked out of the plane through the gaping hole.

Fortunately, the pilots were able to control the aircraft and make an emergency landing in Oregon, Portland. There were no casualties or major injuries among the travellers and the crew.

Whitaker noted that the American planemaker is not out of the woods just yet. “However, let me be clear: This won’t be back to business as usual for Boeing,” said the FAA official.&nbsp;

In a statement, United Airlines said it is targeting its Max 9s return to the skies on Sunday (Jan 28).&nbsp;

Boeing, currently under intense scrutiny after the mid-air fuselage panel blowout incident involving a 737 MAX 9 jet flown by Alaska Airlines, encountered further trouble as the nose wheel of a Boeing 757 passenger jet, operated by Delta Air Lines, dislodged and rolled away during the aircraft's lineup for takeoff at Atlanta's international airport on Saturday (Jan 20).

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that the incident occurred over the weekend at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. None of the 184 passengers or six crew members on board were injured in the incident.

According to a preliminary FAA notice, the 757 aircraft was preparing for takeoff when its nose wheel detached and rolled down a hill. The flight was scheduled for Bogota, Colombia, at the time of the mishap.

During the ATC conversation, another airline waiting for takeoff notified authorities that the nose wheel of the Delta Air Lines 757 passenger aircraft, positioned in front of it and ready for departure, had popped off.

American Aerospace firm Boeing announced the inauguration of its maiden Distribution Centre in India, which is aimed at supporting its commercial aviation customers. Spread across 36,000 square-feet, in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, this warehouse is meant to support the spare parts requirements of the firm's Indian customers, thereby supporting the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of passenger planes. This new site underscores our continued commitment to expanding our presence in the country and delivering an efficient, cost-effective, and local solution, the firm said.&nbsp;

The Next-Generation Boeing 737, 737 MAX, 747, 757, 777 and 787 Dreamliner are some of the American firm's aircraft operating as part of Indian passenger carrier fleets. In addition to this, the Indian Ministry of Defence operates four 737-200s and three 737 Boeing Business Jets. Two specially modified Air India 777-300ER are used as Head of State aircraft.

Boeing plane carrying 122 passengers in Japan erupts in flames after bird hit

The United States Federal Aviation Administration announced on Friday (January 12) that it will increase its oversight on Boeing. The aviation agency has already opened a probe into the Alaska Airlines incident involving Boeing 737 MAX 9 which lost part of its fuselage while in air creating a near-catastrophic situation. But the pilots were able to safely land the plane and there were no major injuries or deaths.

ABC News has quoted FAA saying that the audit will "evaluate Boeing's compliance with its approved quality procedures." The federal aviation watchdog also said that it will also make an assessment of safety risks and quality oversight.

The aviation watchdog will also look into the Organisation Designation Authorisation programme (ODA) under which some certification processes are delegated to manufacturing companies like Boeing.

On January 5, shortly after Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 took off from international airport in Portland, a door plug for the fuselage of the plane fell off. This resulted in a panel coming-off mid-air thereby depressurising the cabin and sending objects out of the gaping hole in the aircraft which was thousands of feet away from the ground. Fortunately, the pilots were able to gain control of the situation and make an emergency landing at Oregon.

"The crack was not something that affected the flight's control or pressurisation," the ANA spokesperson said, as quoted by Reuters.

At the time, there were 59 passengers and six crew in the plane. The aircraft involved in the incident was not a Boeing 737 MAX 9 airplane.

Alaska Airlines said on Wednesday (Jan 10) it would cancel all flights on 737 MAX 9 jets through Saturday (Jan 13) as it continues to wait for regulatory approvals to resume flying after a cabin panel blowout Boeing suggested was caused by a "quality" issue.

Spirit said on Wednesday a company team was now supporting the NTSB's investigation directly, adding it remained "focused on the quality of each aircraft structure that leaves our facilities."&nbsp;

Homendy on Monday told Reuters that all aircraft, including the old ones, should have 25-hour recorders.

"If that communication is not recorded, that is unfortunately a loss for us and a loss for the FAA and a loss for safety because that information is key not just for our investigation but for improving aviation safety," she said.

Recording cockpit conversations for the period of 25-hours may sound like a logical solution but the pilots union oppose such a move.
