‘This friendship has been essential and defining and so important to me in my life. There were a few critical times, which are private and I don’t want to share, but where your support was so profoundly meaningful to me that I don’t think I would’ve been able to be successful without it,’ Affleck said of his bond with Damon.<br />

Affleck then revealed his struggles while filming 'Justice League' which had landed in trouble when Snyder quit the film midway and Joss Whedon stepped in to direct. Several actors on the film have over the years accused Whedon of abusive and unprofessional behaviour.&nbsp;<br />

Affleck revealed that Damon had a role to play in him stepping down from the role and stepping away from his solo Batman project, which later cast Robert Pattinson as the superhero.&nbsp;<br />

"I had a really nadir experience around 'Justice League' for a lot of different reasons. Not blaming anybody, there’s a lot of things that happened," he said.<br />

"But really what it was is that I wasn’t happy. I didn’t like being there. I didn’t think it was interesting. And then some really sh*tty things, awful things happened. But, that’s when I was like, I’m not going to do that anymore. In fact, I talked to you about it and you were a principal influence on that decision. I want to do the things that would bring me joy."<br />

Affleck then gave the example of his latest, 'The Last Duel, which wasn’t necessarily a box-office performer, but earned positive reviews and found an audience on Disney+.<br />

In the latest edition of DC comics` series 'Batman: Urban Legends,' character Tim Drake, who is the third version of Robin, is seen accepting an offer of a date from a male friend.<br />

"There`s been a bunch of conversations about whether or not he`s been queer coded throughout time, and this just felt like the piece that was missing in order to understand Tim Drake`s story better," writer Meghan Fitzmartin says.<br />
<br />
Known as the Boy Wonder, Robin first appeared as Batman`s sidekick in 1940, and since then he has been featured in many comics depicting the DC Universe.<br />
<br />
Fitzmartin says she is delighted DC was happy to expand his personal story and that there is no label on his sexuality.<br />

"I think that for Tim, he`s still figuring it out ... like, `Oh, this is something that I didn`t expect and would like to investigate more` because that`s who he is as a person."<br />

Fitzmartin says she didn`t realize what an impact this story line would have and hopes it raises awareness that "people exist who are questioning and queer and in various states of understanding their own sexuality."<br />

<p>The award-winning musician explained that he had flown out to London to visit the set and see a bit of the film for inspiration. The flight back to Los Angeles is when things got wild.</p>

<p>He said, “That hit me at the worst possible time. On the way home, the thing fucking hits me. And it was like, what do I do? I’m on a 747. How do I do this? I am going to forget this all. I’m going to land and they’re going to play some fucking Beatles song, and I’m going to forget everything.”</p>

<p>“I start running in the bathroom [and hum phrases] and I go back to my seat, and I’m thinking, I’m thinking. Ten minutes later, back in the bathroom,” Elfman said. “And then back to my seat and then back to the bathroom, because I couldn’t do this with the guy sitting next to me.”</p>

<p>At one point, Elfman opened the door and was greeted by a flight attendant who wanted to know if he was okay and did not seem to believe it when Elfman reassured he was not up to anything. “Ten minutes later, I am back in the bathroom, And I open the door and this time there are three flight attendants,” he said. “And they were probably going, ‘What the fuck he is doing so frequently? You can’t do that much blow. You can’t shoot up that often. What is he doing in there?!’ And I piece by piece was working out the Batman score in my head.”</p>

<p>However, in a different interview, Elfman had said that he was “reasonably happy” with the mix of the score, his 10th, but disappointed with the dub, or how the music was transferred into the film.</p>

However, this comic book features the first appearance of Batman’s iconic villain The Joker and part-time villainess Catwoman.</p>

<p>The sale bests the previous watermark of $1.5 million for a Detective Comics #27 that sold in November.</p>

<p>Interestingly, the comic had been in the hands of one collector, Billy T. Gates, for more than 40 years. Gates bought the comic in 1979 from a comic shop in Houston, Texas for $3,000 --&nbsp;a large amount&nbsp;for a comic at a time when serious collecting was still in its nascent stages. ($3,000 equates to around $11,000 if adjusted for inflation.) Gates died in 2019, bequeathing his collection to his son.</p>

<p>DC's most popular superhero Batman is getting a multiverse treatment. Actors Robert Pattinson, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will play the caped superhero in films that are slated to release in 2022.&nbsp;<br />

The three actors will be seen playing the same character is separate Warner Bros films. DC is planning to attempt the multiverse concept for the first time with the upcoming films. The news was confirmed by the president of DC Films Walter Hamada to The New York Times.&nbsp;<br />

While not much is known about the project that will have Keaton playing the masked superhero, but fans got excited after Times reporter Brooks Barnes confirmed the details to Film Critic Nestor Bentancor on Twitter.&nbsp;<br />

"Based on your Hamada piece, some have interpreted that WB is doing two franchises starring Batman, one with Pattinson, one with a new actor," Bentancor asked. "Is that correct, or you were referring to Keaton as a second Batman, being part of a non-Batman-centric saga?"&nbsp;<br />

<p>According to reports, Keaton and Affleck will both play Batman in the film 'The Flash'which is set to release in 2022. Hamada states the film will link two different universes.&nbsp;<br />

Incidentally, Keaton will be playing the superhero for the third time. He had played Batman on screen in 1989 and 1992. The 2022 film will reportedly reveal what's happened to Keaton's Batman since he last played the role.&nbsp;<br />

There are also rumours that Keaton may also appear as Batman in other DC films- in a similar way how Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury does in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<br />

Affleck will be playing the superhero for the last time in 'The Flash'. He has played the role before in 2016's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 2017's 'Justice League'.&nbsp;<br />

Meanwhile, Pattinson's 'Batman' is already under production and a teaser of the film was released in 2020 giving fans a sneak peek into the film which is being helmed by Matt Reeves.&nbsp;<br />

Interestingly, the three actors represent three different generations. Pattinson is 34, Affleck is 48, and Keaton is 69. Will DC make the three actors share screen space in any of the films? Guess, we will have to wait and watch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The documentary has five parts -- approach, themes, construction, ensemble, and anticipation. <p>Joel Schumacher, renowned costume designer-turned-director, who is best known for helming films like 'St Elmo's Fire', 'Falling Down' and two 'Batman' movies, has passed away at the age of 80.</p>

<p>Joel was battling a year-long battle with cancer, according to his publicists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Joel Schumacher started off as a costume designer for 1970s films such as Woody Allen’s 'Sleeper' and 'Interiors', along with 'Blume in Love', 'The Prisoner of Second Avenue' and 'The Last of Sheila'.</p>

<p>He also was a production designer on the 1974 telefilm 'Killer Bees'.</p>

<p>He then turned to writing in the late '70s on 'Sparkle', 'Car Wash' and film adaptation of Broadway musical 'The Wiz', and made his directorial debut in 1981 with sci-fi comedy 'The Incredible Shrinking Woman', featuring Lily Tomlin in the lead.</p>

<p>Joel dressed the biggest of Hollywood stars and directed including Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Arnold, Nicole Kidman, Nicolas Cage and others. He is also credited for nurturing rising talent at the time like Matthew McConaughey ('A Time To Kill'), Colin Farrell ('Phone The Booth'), Demi Moore and Rob Lowe ('St Elmo's Fire'), Gerard Butler ('Phantom of the Opera'), among others.</p>

<p>As the news of his death circulated, several celebs mourned the loss of the talented man. McConaughey said he owes his career to the filmmaker, who gave him the lead role as Jake Brigance in courtroom drama 'A Time to Kill', at a time when he was "relatively unknown". He said, "Joel not only took a chance on me, he fought for me. Knowing the studio might never approve a relatively unknown like myself for the lead in 'A Time to Kill,' he set up a secret screen test for me on a Sunday morning in a small unknown studio because as he stated, 'Even if you do great, you may not get the part, so I don't want the industry to ever think you screen tested and DID NOT get the job'. I don't see how my career could have gone to the wonderful places it has if it wasn't for Joel Schumacher believing in me back then.”</p>

<p>Sutherland took to Twitter to share his condolences to one of his "dearest friends and partners in filmmaking".</p>

<p>Moore said working with Schumacher was a "pivotal moment" in not only her career but also to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. She wrote, "Forever grateful for the tough love and the chance that he took on me. His daring, dynamic spirit will be missed. Rest easy Joel.”</p>
