Raphinha had to wait a couple of minutes to celebrate scoring Barca's third as the assistant referee had initially ruled out his effort for offside before the decision was overturned following a VAR replay. Interestingly, both the Poland captain and Aubameyang had stellar rivalry when they competed for top honours in the Bundesliga. Both won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga while in the opposition camp but could soon get re-united with his former foe.

Interestingly, Aubameyang has a good track record with Barcelona having scored 13 goals in 24 La Liga matches while he has scored only three times in the Premier League for Chelsea. A move for either player could yet make sense as Barcelona will likely look to defend their La Liga crown next season, with them needing 14 more points to be crowned the Spanish champions for the first time since 2019.

Barcelona on Monday called on La Liga president Javier Tebas to quit over "false" accusations allegedly made by him concerning their referee corruption case.

The Spanish giants made the demand after a newspaper claimed Tebas had written to the Spanish public prosecutor accusing two former Barca presidents of wrongdoing.

Last month the Catalan club was charged with corruption after payments of more than 7.3 million euros ($7.8 million) to a company owned by a former refereeing chief were uncovered.

In a statement following La Vanguardia's report Barcelona claimed Tebas "presented false proof" to the public prosecutor "to incriminate our club".

"FC Barcelona wants to express its deep anger, indignation and disgust," the statement read.

It went on to demand that Tebas "appears in public to provide answers", adding "for the dignity and respect of the presidency of La Liga Mr Tebas should resign".

Tebas in response denied "accusing anyone" in a post on social media.

Last month the club said they paid Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former referee and ex-vice president of the refereeing committee of the Spanish football federation (CTA) between 1994 and 2018, for reports and advice related to refereeing.

In Monday's statement a bruised Barcelona claimed they were the victims "of a media lynching for something that never happened - Barca have never bought off referees".

As well as the club and Enriquez Negreira, two of the club's former presidents, Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, are facing the same charge of corruption.

Barcelona have already been charged with corruption by Spanish prosecutors for payments between 2001 and 2018 to a company owned by Negreira, totalling around 7.3 million euros ($7.95 million). The club say they were paying for reports and advice on refereeing but prosecutors have accused the club of seeking to gain favourable decision-making from officials.

Charges were filed earlier this month against the club, Negreira and two former Barcelona presidents, Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu, among others. Negreira, a former referee, was the vice president of the refereeing committee of the Spanish football federation between 1994 and 2018.

The investigation began after Spain's tax authorities identified irregularities in tax payments made between 2016 and 2018 by the company Dasnil 95, owned by Negreira. 
 
Dasnil 95 reportedly received payments from Barcelona between those years. The last invoice was issued in June 2018. After that the refereeing committee was restructured and Negreira left the organisation. Joan Laporta, the current Barcelona president, has insisted his club is innocent.
