Inzamam, along with another former Pakistan skipper, Saleem Malik, drew reference to Arshdeep's reverse swinging deliveries on a live show for a Pakistan news channel during Rohit-led India's Super 8 clash versus Australia on June 24 in St. Lucia.&nbsp;

Both the former Pakistani cricketers opined that the 14th or 15th over of a game is too soon for a pacer to get reverse swing. Arshdeep got a hint of reverse swing during the 16th over of Australia's unsuccessful 206-run chase (where they only managed 181-8 and lost by 24 runs after Rohit's strokefilled 41-ball 92).

Thus, Inzamam said, "Arshdeep Singh, when he was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reversing. is it too early (for reverse swing) with the new ball? This means the ball was ready for reverse swing by the 12th or the 13th over. Arshdeep now has 15 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup - second most after Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui's 16. The previous best in the terms of most wickets for India in an edition of T20 World Cup was RP Singh's 12 scalps in 2007.

"A lot of credit goes to Jassi bhai because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters - he gives, what, three or four runs in an over - so batters are coming hard against me, and I just have to try and bowl my best ball and there are a lot of chances of getting wickets there," Arshdeep said.

"On the other end they see the runs are not coming and the asking rate is going high, so they take more risks against me. [There's a] chance always of getting a wicket there. So a lot of credit for my wickets goes to Jassi bhai."

Bumrah himself is having a blast of a tournament with 11 wickets in six games. His economy of 4.08, is the best among all the bowlers in the tournament with 10 or more wickets.

As for the match, Arshdeep spoke about how the wind factor came into play when they made bowling plans from different ends.

"When we bowled from the end opposite to the pavilion, we got a lot of swing. From the other end, bowling against the wind… the batters were going to use the wind since the ball was travelling. So we had to look for defensive options there and not allow the wind to come into play," he added.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the 2023 T20I Team of the Year and four Indians have managed to make the cut. Among the four Indians are: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh. Surya has been named the captain of the side as well. There is not a single player who managed to make it to the team from Australia, Pakistan, South Africa or Bangladesh.&nbsp;

Among the other selected players apart from India, two were from Zimbabwe, one from Ireland, one from England, one from West Indies, one from Uganda and one from New Zealand as well.&nbsp;

Following his breakout IPL 2022 season with Punjab Kings, where he garnered attention with his death bowling, Arshdeep got rewarded with a place in India’s T20I side for the England series. Playing in his first match, Arshdeep bamboozled Jason Roy and Dawid Malan with his in-swingers and returned with figures of two for 18.

Later, he toured Windies and got his big break soon after when he got picked for the Asia Cup in Dubai and the T20 World Cup in Australia. Against Pakistan at the MCG, Arshdeep accounted for Babar Azam’s wicket and got rid of star opener Mohammad Rizwan too. He delivered with the new and the old ball throughout the campaign and ended up with ten wickets in six games.

Meanwhile, in the seven first-class matches played so far, Arshdeep has picked 25 wickets at an average of 23.84 and economy rate of 2.92.

Upon accepting Kent's proposal to represent them in the County Championship, Arshdeep said he is excited to play the red ball cricket in England to sharpen his skills and push for a case in the Indian Test side. He added Rahul Dravid also talked highly of the cricket club prompting him to agree to the deal.&nbsp;

"I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game. Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a club with a great history," Arshdeep said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Indian bowlers, in general, were expensive and off the mark as they conceded 12 extras (four wides and seven no-balls) as Sri Lanka rode on Kusal Mendis' 52 and Dasun Shanaka's 22-ball 56 to post 206 for 7 after being asked to bat first. In reply, India were 57 for 5 before Suryakumar Yadav's 51,&nbsp;Axar Patel's 31-ball 65* and Shivam Mavi's 15-ball 26 brought the hosts back before they fell short by 16 runs.
