NASA names a new director of research into UFOs, what the U.S. government calls unidentified anomalous phenomenon or UAP. The U.S. space agency's chief says an expert panel that urged more fact-finding on the matter found no evidence of an extraterrestrial origin for these objects. NASA announced that it will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to widen its search for intelligent life beyond our planet.

Mexican lawmakers heard testimony that we are not alone in the universe. The fossilised bodies presented in glass cases by journalist and UFO scientist Jaime Maussan at Mexico's parliament are said to be 1,000 years old. The hearing marked the Latin American country's first congressional event on UFOs. However several similar claims of Jaime Maussan have been debunked in the past. Watch the story to know the truth.

<p>He further warned that intruders are taking the risk of approaching the house, which he called a gun-wielding household, adding, "There is a possibility of injury if they get in because this family is armed."&nbsp;</p>

A family in Las Vegas, who had dialled 911 to report about the '10-foot aliens' they saw in their backyard since then have been inundated with trespassers eager to see the supernatural beings. However, the Nevada household is now armed with guns and they have threatened that they will shoot any UFO sleuths that come close to their house, their attorney stated. This threat has been issued after high-tech surveillance cameras were installed by the police on their roof, to ensure that they have no intruders. On April 30, the family had called the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) and claimed to have seen '10 foot aliens' with 'big eyes' and also an object falling from the sky. Alien scare | Vegas family, who complained about aliens in backyard, threaten to shoot any UFO sleuths

'Alien' UFOs are on the minds of U.S. senior officials. Many have also given their views on UFOs, including Former US Presidents. Does U.S. actually believe in 'aliens'? Molly Gambhir tells you more.

An alien saucer? UFO hunter snaps eerie image of unidentified flying object, claims ‘we are not alone’

<p>As the mystery of aliens deepened in Las Vegas after a UFO sighting was reported and extraterrestrial beings were claimed to have been seen by people, NASA has said that the UFO seen was nothing but a meteor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The issue arose after the police department of Las Vegas received a call from a man who said that an object fell from the sky and claimed to have seen an eight-foot-tall alien standing in his backyard.</p>

<h2><strong>Green fireball just a bright meteor</strong></h2>

<p>Lindley Johnson, the planetary defence officer of the space agency, said that the green fireball spotted last month was most probably a bright meteor, which was less than a metre wide.</p>

<p>The startled resident of Las Vegas, while speaking to a 911 dispatcher, said, “It has big eyes and it’s looking at us." As per reports, the report appeared credible to the officers and they responded to the scene on May 1.</p>

<p>In the incident's bodycam footage, one man was heard as saying, “Me and him saw it.&nbsp;It was like a big creature. Around 10 feet tall," said another.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The officer is then seen reassuring the men and saying, “I’m not gonna BS you guys. One of my partners saw something fall out of the sky, too.”</p>

<p>In the footage captured by the body cam of another officer, a glowing green orb is seen falling from the sky.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>'Nothing landed in Las Vegas'</strong></h2>

<p>The footage was recorded on the fireball logs of the American Meteor Society’s fireball logs but was not added to those of NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies, or CNEOS.</p>

<p>“The CNEOS website only captures reports for objects that are estimated to have exceeded one metre in size based on the observed total energy released—in other words natural objects which were large enough to be categorised as asteroids prior to entering Earth’s atmosphere,” explained Johnson. &nbsp;</p>

<p>He also rejected the suggestion that something landed from the meteor in Las Vegas. He added that it would have been hundreds of miles away from the city, at the time when it was spotted. “So nothing from the meteor landed in anyone’s backyard in Vegas," he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>No UFO till now have been found by the police.&nbsp;</p>

NASA terms 'UFO sighting' in Las Vegas a 'bright meteor', but cops hope to trace aliens

<p>Harvard professor Avi Loeb made a new claim that aliens are more likely to make first contact with artificial intelligence (AI) and not with humans.</p>

<h2><strong>AI drones of aliens on Earth?</strong></h2>

<p>The theory was shared by Avi Loeb in a new documentary, <em>God Versus Aliens</em>, in which he suggested AI drones will be sent by the extraterrestrials to Earth rather than ‘crewed’ vehicles.<br />
<br />
In an interview with Daily Mail, British musician and director of the show Mark Christopher Lee called Loeb a "very active mind". However, he added that the suggestions of the professor are based on the vast distance which aliens can travel to reach us.</p>

<p>“Loeb proposes that it’s likely to be some form of AI because why would you send flesh and blood creatures? That means there’s a possibility that their AI could just connect with AI and bypass humans, which is a bit scary to think about,” Lee said.<br />
<br />
“Loeb suggests that the alien AI may feel a kinship with ours - or our AI may imitate the alien AI and become like them,” he added.</p>

<h2><strong>Interstellar travel</strong></h2>

<p>In the documentary, Loeb claimed, “My expectation from interstellar travel is that it's best done with electronic gadgets and devices rather than with biological creatures because the journey takes a long time.”<br />
<br />
“Even to the nearest star, it will take us 50,000 years to get there with chemical rockets. And artificial intelligence systems have that patience - and then they can remain dormant... so that they survive the journey,” he added.<br />
<br />
“If they visit us, of course, we can use our AI systems to interpret their AI systems. And, you know, they might feel a kinship to them,” the professor further stated.</p>

<p>Lee stated that Loeb has flown to Papua New Guinea where he will set off on a $1.5 million ocean expedition to search for fragments of an object that reportedly crashed into the sea in 2014.<br />
<br />
In 2019, the Israeli astronomer and his research partner Amir Siraj had reached the conclusion that Earth was hit by an object from outside our solar system in 2014.<br />

Aliens likely to make first contact with AI, not humans, claims Harvard professor

The AI boom is happening all over the world. The majority of buzzwords these days are related to AI. And it's only a matter of time before AI would be linked to phenomena such as aliens & UFOs. Likely to feel a kinship with AI, aliens may soon make contact with them.

Are Aliens likely to make first contact with AI & not humans?

<p>Social media went abuzz over reports of so-called 'aliens' after claims&nbsp;that a family in the United States saw 10-foot aliens in their backyard. The family's home is in Las Vegas, Nevada and there have been several claims of mysterious encounters in that particular area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On April 30, two Las Vegas residents claimed that they saw an object falling from the sky. After that, some mysterious figures allegedly emerged from the dark.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After the claims, police have begun surveillance by installing high-tech cameras outside the home of the residents.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Doug Poppa, a former police officer, has been following the story of the mysterious object falling from the sky.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A report by Daily Mail mentioned that it was surprising for Poppa that the Las Vegas Metro Police Department actually placed surveillance cameras outside.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The media outlet mentioned that Poppa interviewed the family who made the call. They told him that the cops installed the camera to "protect" them from UFO fanatics.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is being reported that Poppa, who is a podcaster, remained unsure about the whole incident, but he also stated that the family is somewhat credible.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Taking to his Twitter handle, Poppa wrote: "THE VIDEO CAMERA SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM WITH THE WIRELESS TRANSMISSION LINK THAT I RECORDED AT THE HOME ON MAY 19, MUST HAVE BEEN A MIRAGE OR A FIGMENT OF MY IMAGINATION IF THE LAS VEGAS METRO POLICE ARE TO BE BELIEVED." &nbsp;</p>

Social media went abuzz over reports of so-called 'aliens' after claims that a family in the United States saw 10-foot aliens in their backyard. The family's home is in Las Vegas, Nevada and there have been several claims of mysterious encounters in that particular area. On April 30, two Las Vegas residents claimed that they saw an object falling from the sky. After that, some mysterious figures allegedly emerged from the dark. After the claims, police have begun surveillance by installing high-tech cameras outside the home of the residents. Doug Poppa, a former police officer, has been following the story of the mysterious object falling from the sky. A report by Daily Mail mentioned that it was surprising for Poppa that the Las Vegas Metro Police Department actually placed surveillance cameras outside. Also read: Alien connection of Vatican? They told him that the cops installed the camera to "protect" them from UFO fanatics. It is being reported that Poppa, who is a podcaster, remained unsure about the whole incident, but he also stated that the family is somewhat credible. Taking to his Twitter handle, Poppa wrote: "THE VIDEO CAMERA SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM WITH THE WIRELESS TRANSMISSION LINK THAT I RECORDED AT THE HOME ON MAY 19, MUST HAVE BEEN A MIRAGE OR A FIGMENT OF MY IMAGINATION IF THE LAS VEGAS METRO POLICE ARE TO BE BELIEVED." "NICE INSTALL TASS (TECHNICAL AND SURVEILLANCE SQUAD)," he added. US: Cops install surveillance cameras at Las Vegas home after UFO landing, aliens sighting claim

Combing through data sent home by NASA's Cassini spacecraft, scientists have discovered phosphorus, a key chemical element for many biological processes on Saturn’s moon, Enceladus. Phosphorus is the rarest of six elements upon which life as we know it depends, has been found in a tiny ocean-bearing moon in our solar system.

<br />
Since these pulses have the capability to stand out against the space's background radio noise, they are likely to be an effective way to communicate at such long distances. Hence, scientists have considered them as a good option to listen to while they hunt for alien civilisations.</p>

<h2><strong>Alien-hunting strategy</strong></h2>

<p>In a new study which was published in The Astronomical Journal, the scientists explained the alien-hunting strategy they have adopted in detail.</p>

<p>The software has been developed by the researchers, headed by Cornell University graduate student Akshay Suresh, to detect the repetitive frequency patterns which were tested on known pulsars&nbsp;known for perfectly picking up the narrow frequencies.<br />
<br />
These frequency ranges have been very small, their width being around a tenth of the frequencies which are generally used by an FM radio station. Data from Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia was then searched by the researchers using the method.<br />

"Until now, radio SETI has primarily dedicated its efforts to the search for continuous signals," said study co-author Vishal Gajjar of the SETI Institute in a statement.</p>

<p>The signals emerging from the centre of the Milky Way have been the focus of researchers because they are dense with stars and potentially habitable exoplanets. <p>A captain in the United States Air Force has revealed that around half a century ago, a UFO attack allegedly took down weapons on a nuclear missiles base he was working on. Speaking to National Geographic, the Air Force Captain has alleged that the incident was concealed from the public.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharing his account of the incident where his nuclear missile base was allegedly "attacked by a UFO",&nbsp;retired US Air Force captain Robert Salas said that the encounter took place over 50 years ago, on March 24, 1967, to be exact.</p>

<p>He claims that the base at that time was holding 10 nuclear missiles.</p>

<p>The guards on duty were reportedly left "frightened,"&nbsp;"screaming" and "babbling" after the&nbsp;close encounter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Speaking to National Geographic for its series on UFOs, Salas claimed that the United States government covered up the incident.</p>

<p>The former Air Force Captain, as per Express UK, was heading up a Malmstrom base in Montana when he and his colleagues saw eight orange-coloured lights over the base.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He recalls, "Sometime in the evening hours, I get a call from the main guard upstairs. He tells me that there are strange lights flying upon the facility."&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per Express UK, he spoke of his initial dismissal of the situation, saying, "I kind of dismissed it. I even said: 'You mean like UFOs?' About five minutes later, he calls back, and he is screaming."</p>

<p>The situation became alarming, and that led Salas to believe they were under attack.&nbsp;</p>

A captain in the United States Air Force has revealed that around half a century ago, a UFO attack allegedly took down weapons on a nuclear missiles base he was working on. Speaking to National Geographic, the Air Force Captain has alleged that the incident was concealed from the public. Sharing his account of the incident where his nuclear missile base was allegedly "attacked by a UFO", retired US Air Force captain Robert Salas said that the encounter took place over 50 years ago, on March 24, 1967, to be exact. He claims that the base at that time was holding 10 nuclear missiles. The guards on duty were reportedly left "frightened," "screaming" and "babbling" after the close encounter. The former Air Force Captain, as per Express UK, was heading up a Malmstrom base in Montana when he and his colleagues saw eight orange-coloured lights over the base. He recalls, "Sometime in the evening hours, I get a call from the main guard upstairs. He tells me that there are strange lights flying upon the facility." As per Express UK, he spoke of his initial dismissal of the situation, saying, "I kind of dismissed it. I even said: 'You mean like UFOs?' About five minutes later, he calls back, and he is screaming." The situation became alarming, and that led Salas to believe they were under attack.
