The Government in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu has inked an MoU with Dixon Technologies Limited for the latter's setting up of an electronics manufacturing facility that would roll out laptops and all-in-one computers. The Indospace Industrial park housing this facility will be located in Oragadam, near Chennai city. "HP laptops, soon to be #MadeInTamilNadu!," read the State's Industries Minister TRB Rajaa's social media post. He said that the facility would be setup with an investment of Rs 1000cr (approx $115mn), and is expected to create 5000 jobs.&nbsp;
Dixon Technologies is a contractor that assembles gadgets for Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Panasonic, TCL Technologies, OnePlus, among others. The electronics manufacturing company has facilities in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh, and is soon to operationalize the facility in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu is the second largest state economy in the country and leading state in manufacturing and exports. It added that initiatives are being undertaken to grow the state economy to $1trillion by the end of this decade, and attract the necessary investment. The Government in the Southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu has inked an MoU with Dixon Technologies Limited for the latter's setting up of an electronics manufacturing facility that would roll out laptops and all-in-one computers. The Indospace Industrial park housing this facility will be located in Oragadam, near Chennai city. "HP laptops, soon to be #MadeInTamilNadu!," read the State's Industries Minister TRB Rajaa's social media post. He said that the facility would be setup with an investment of Rs 1000cr (approx $115mn), and is expected to create 5000 jobs. Dixon Technologies is a contractor that assembles gadgets for Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Panasonic, TCL Technologies, OnePlus, among others. The electronics manufacturing company has facilities in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh, and is soon to operationalize the facility in Tamil Nadu. More than 200 people, including small children, have fallen ill in the past few days in Ajnara Homes - a renowned society in the Indian city of Greater Noida. Residents of the society have said that the water supply was contaminated, a claim which was initially denied by the management.&nbsp;
But in a statement dated April 8, the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority said that punitive action is taken and a fine of Rs 2.5 million ($28,871.25) has been imposed on Ajnara Homes for negligence related to public health. In order to find the root cause, the authorities collected samples as an immediate response.&nbsp;
The health of people started to deteriorate in the wee hours of Monday, with all reporting similar symptoms, including vomiting and diarrhoea. On Monday morning around 10:00 am (IST), a general physician was also deployed to provide medical assistance and write prescriptions based on symptoms.&nbsp;
Many children were forced to skip school on Monday and Tuesday because of severe stomach pain, vomiting and loose motion. Elder people were also affected.&nbsp;

Rachna Singh, mother of an 11-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son, told WION, "This is unacceptable. This is 100% an issue with water supply."&nbsp;
"I don't give outside food to my kids, but if they are not safe in their own home, where else they would be? They drink water from RO, and fill bottles from it, which means the contamination passed through RO," she added.&nbsp;
"Both of the kids vomited the entire night. They couldn't sleep. I thought of taking them to the hospital but then got to know that many were unwell. The doctor has given medicine to them, both are still taking it, along with ORS," Singh added.&nbsp;

Apartment Owners Association (AOA) has several times reminded the agency to get the water storing tanks cleaned but they have not paid attention to it, resulting huge health issue in the society."&nbsp;
"AOA immediately contacted concerned officials in Grater Noida Authority and requested them to take stern action against the Builder &ndash; APV Realty Limited and the agency for looking after the common affairs of the society including water supply to flats. The authority reported that water tanks are highly contaminated and collected sample. AOA also contacted Govt. Bishrakh Hospitals and requested to camp doctor to take care of patients," he added. &nbsp;
"AOA officials with some of the residents also met the CEO, of Greater Noida Authority and requested him to take action on such lapse by the builder. AOA further placed its complaint that despite AOA in society, the builder is not handing over the maintenance services, though as per UP Apartment Act, 2010, it is mandatory to hand over maintenance services to AOA, once it is formed and registered," Deepchand further said pointing out the underlying causes.&nbsp;

What exactly happened is still shrouded in mystery as people are still waiting of sample test results. Anuj Varshney, father of an 11-year-old son and five-year-old son, told WION, "We are waiting for the report of contaminated water because the water tank was not cleaned as per the schedule and their ignorance is very shameful."&nbsp;
"Both of the kids complained of stomach pain and loose motion. I have given medicine to them but then got to know in society what's app group that many were unwell. Maintenance should focus on basic necessities those residents are using in daily needs."
"We want to convey one message if you can manage our society then they should handover to AOA," he added.&nbsp;

<h2>Who was Rahul Shinde?</h2>

Father of a slain Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) constable Rahul Shinde on Wednesday (Apr 9), has demanded capital punishment for Tahawwur Rana, accused of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks that happened 16 years ago. Rana is expected to be extradited to India from the United States. Rana, who is a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, is accused of playing a role in planning the 2008 attacks carried out by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists that claimed 166 lives, including those of police personnel and foreign nationals. Russia has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the May 9 Victory Day celebrations in Moscow, marking the 80th anniversary of Soviet victory over Germany in World War II, Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said.
According to news agency Tass, Rudenko said that an invitation has already been sent out to PM Modi and he is expected to arrive in Russia in the next month for the event.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s being worked out, it should be this year. He has an invitation,&rdquo; Rudenko said.
Russia has also invited leaders of several other allies to take part in this year&rsquo;s Victory Day parade at the iconic Red Square in Moscow.
This comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to make a visit to India later this year. The Indian prime minister invited Putin during his trip to Russia last year in July. Putin has already accepted the invitation but the exact date of Putin&rsquo;s visit has not been announced yet.
PM Modi&rsquo;s 2024 visit marked his first trip to the country in nearly five years. In 2019, PM Modi attended an economic conclave in Russia&rsquo;s far eastern city of Vladivostok.

Further, it was warned that many websites offering free downloads of Ghibli art or other media are fronts for malicious cyber activities. "Users who download content from these sources may unwittingly infect their devices with harmful software, including viruses, malware, or ransomware, leading to potential data loss and identity theft. Scammers may use popular Ghibli characters and art as bait in phishing scams. These fraudulent campaigns often involve fake contests, giveaways, or free download links for Ghibli art. Clicking on these links can lead to the theft of personal data, financial information, or even financial losses," reads the statement from the Police.&nbsp;
Police have also warned netizens against unsolicited emails, messages or links that offer free Ghibli content. The advisory strongly recommended that users must check the legitimacy of websites and social media profiles before engaging in transactions or sharing information. It was also mentioned that downloadable Ghibli-themed wallpapers, art packs, or content may contain malware or ransomware. Once installed, these malicious programs can compromise devices, steal sensitive data, or lock user files.
Those from India, who have fallen prey to such scams and cyber crimes have been asked to&nbsp; register a complaint at www.cybercrime.gov.in.

He said when growth is driven by aspirations, it becomes inclusive and sustainable. He said India has sprinted ahead at double the speed, doubling the size of its economy in a decade.
PM Modi said "appeasement politics" has been a significant challenge to India's growth. Referring to the recent amendment to the Waqf-related laws passed by Parliament, the Prime Minister noted that the debate surrounding Waqf stems from the politics of appeasement, which is not a new phenomenon.
"The seeds of appeasement were sown during India's freedom struggle," he said. He questioned why India, unlike other nations that gained independence, had to face partition as a condition for freedom. He attributed this to the prioritization of power over national interest at the time. He stated that the idea of a separate nation was not rooted in the aspirations of ordinary Muslim families but was propagated by a few extremists, supported by certain Congress leaders to secure sole claims to power.
The Prime Minister said that Congress gained power through appeasement politics and some extremist leaders made wealth. However, he questioned what the common Muslim received in return. He highlighted that poor and marginalized Muslims were left with neglect, illiteracy, and unemployment. He emphasized that Muslim women faced injustice, citing the Shah Bano case where their constitutional rights "were sacrificed to appeasement". He noted that women were silenced and pressured not to question, while extremists were given free rein to suppress their rights.
"Appeasement politics is fundamentally against the core concept of social justice in India," PM Modi said. He criticized some parties for using it as a tool for vote-bank politics. He noted that the Joint Parliamentary Committee held 38 meetings and engaged in 128 hours of deliberation. Additionally, nearly one crore online suggestions were received from across the country. "This demonstrates that democracy in India is no longer confined to Parliament alone but is being strengthened through public participation," he said. He emphasized the roadmap for India's progress by 2047, stating that continuous deliberation at every step will yield valuable insights.
"The world's eyes and expectations are on India," he said, highlighting that within a span of a few years, India has risen from being the 11th to the 5th largest economy. "Despite numerous global challenges, India has sprinted ahead at double the speed, doubling the size of its economy in just one decade". He remarked that those who once believed India would progress slowly and steadily are now witnessing a 'Fast and Fearless India'.
He expressed confidence that India will soon become the world's third-largest economy.&nbsp;

He also urged industry to alert the government when they witness dumping of foreign goods in their sectors, especially from China. The steel industry has already submitted representations, which are being evaluated, he added.
<h2>&lsquo;Trade deficit with China soared in UPA rule&rsquo;</h2>
Goyal went on to blame the previous UPA government, claiming that the trade deficit with China soared during its tenure. &ldquo;When Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid down office in 2004, the India-China trade deficit was at a certain level. In the 10 years of the UPA government, that trade deficit soared by 25 times,&rdquo; he said. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of signing a controversial MoU with the Communist Party of China, which he implied was followed by tariff reductions that allowed massive Chinese dumping into Indian markets.
&ldquo;This killed many of our local manufacturing sectors and made us dependent on China. The country is still suffering from those 10 years of mismanagement of the economy,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

He further referred to some videos stating that following the public spat between two TMC MPs in the vicinity of the Election Commission of India, the furious MP "continued slandering the 'Versatile International Lady (VIL)'".
Roy expressing his disappointment over the incident, hoped that the leadership would take cognisance of the matter.
"We are very sorry about this whole thing. The WhatsApp chats of the party being leaked is unfortunate. The language used by Kalyan Banerjee is unfortunate. I hope that the party leadership will take cognizance of the matter," he said.
"Many of our party members wanted to complain to Mamata Banerjee, but whether they did or not, I don't know. Kalyan Banerjee misbehaved with a lady MP, she protested and revolted and then all the MPs went against Kalyan Banerjee," he added.
Referring to the TMC MPs' "public spat" at the EC office, Malviya, in a post, said that it appears that the Trinamool Congress instructed its MPs to assemble at the Parliament office to sign the memorandum before proceeding to the EC.
