The mastermind behind his massive cybercrime operation, was identified as Mohammed Uzaif, who ran this scam with his mother Sabana Abdul Bari, has been arrested. He was managing thousands of bank accounts, where the stolen money was deposited. The 22-year-old used these accounts to park money and then syphon it. The duo procured the sum through online fraud.&nbsp;&nbsp;As reported by news outlet Times of India, Uzaif had dropped out of a BCom course, created a network to help cybercriminals keep their illegal funds. These were claims made by the investors. The duo is accused of operating about 4,200 bank accounts. And with more external help, they managed nearly 9,000 accounts. As per the police, close to ₹24 crore passed through these accounts. An Air India Airbus A350 suffered engine damage at Delhi airport on Thursday (January 15) after it sucked a baggage container while taxiing in low-visibility conditions caused by dense fog, the airline confirmed. The aircraft, operating Flight AI101 from Delhi to New York (JFK), had earlier returned to the airport shortly after departure because the sudden closure of Iranian airspace disrupted its planned flight path. On Thursday, (15th Jan), the Supreme Court dismissed the film producer's plea seeking CBFC clearance for the film, and asked that this matter be argued before the Madras High Court. The Madras High Court is expected to take up this matter on January 20th.This big-budget film, which is also said to be Vijay's final one, was originally planned for release on January 9th, so that it could hit the screens ahead of the Pongal festivities, which go on from Wednesday, (14th Jan) until the weekend.<h2>About 'Jana Nayagan'</h2>Jana Nayagan (which means People's Hero in Tamil) is the final cinematic venture of Indian Actor-politician Vijay. Expectations have been sky high, given that Vijay, among India's highest-paid actors, would be bidding adieu to his four-decade-long film career to pursue a political career after this film. Vijay's TVK party is contesting the Tamil Nadu polls that are barely 4 months away.<h2>What caused the delay in releasing the film? How did the matter reach the court?</h2>The delay in the film's release is due to non issuance of the Certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification and related hurdles. The Government-issued CBFC certificate is a mandatory requirement for a film's release.Barely four days ahead of the original release date(Jan 9th), the film's producer KVN Productions, approached the court alleging that the movie's certification is being unreasonably withheld and delayed. It was mentioned that these delays would cause massive financial loss to the producers who invested ₹500cr($55.6mn).According to the production firm, they had applied for the CBFC Certificate on 18th December, following which they were informed by the Censor Board (CBFC) that the film would get a 16+ age rating, owing to violent content. Further, certain scenes were also asked to be trimmed out.The producer says that the trimmed version was submitted for certification on December 29th, but the certifying body CBFC had reverted this Monday (Jan 5th), citing further hurdles.The film certifying body CBFC maintains that Jana Nayagan would have to be reviewed by a larger committee. This is owing to a complaint by a certifying official from their team, regarding some objectionable content in the film. From target to shield: Empowering youth against information warfare

Over the last nine months, as part of their respective missions, the Indian Army and the Indian Navy have used the services of Europe’s Eutelsat OneWeb internet-beaming satellites. Eutelsat OneWeb operates a constellation of 648 satellites, which can beam high-speed internet to portable receivers almost anywhere on Earth. The Indian military using this European commercial service is a significant development, as the Indian Government does not possess similar internet-beaming satellite constellations to support its requirements. The French Government, British Government, and India’s Bharti Group are among the major investors in Eutelsat OneWeb.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Indian Army first used OneWeb’s services while undertaking humanitarian assistance duties in earthquake-hit Myanmar under ‘Operation Brahma’ in April 2025. Likewise, in November-December, the Army team rendering assistance to Cyclone-hit Sri Lanka during ‘Operation Sagar Bandhu’ were using OneWeb terminals. The Indian Navy’s INSV Kaundinya is the latest to have deployed OneWeb terminals during its 1,400 km voyage between Gujarat, India and Muscat, Oman. INSV Kaundinya is a traditionally built stitched-plank sailing vessel inspired by ancient Indian shipbuilding techniques. The voyage retraced historic maritime trade routes, showcasing India’s rich seafaring legacy while promoting maritime innovation and national pride.&nbsp;Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity technology has been deployed and remains operational onboard Kaundinya, enabling reliable, real-time communications throughout the journey, the firm announced. Given the vessel’s traditional design and the absence of conventional communication infrastructure, OneWeb’s LEO technology served as the sole connectivity link for the expedition.&nbsp;Notably, OneWeb satellite internet is specifically meant to connect the unconnected, and serve disaster-hit regions, remote places where no communication infrastructure (internet cables or telecom towers) exists: such as high seas, deserts, mountains. An FIR has been registered against the Sarpanch and eight other people for the alleged killing of 300 stray dogs in Shayampet and Arepally villages, according to reports.<h2>What happened?</h2>According to the FIR filed in the case, the sarpanch staff allegedly hired two individuals to kill the strays. The horrific killings were carried out using a poisonous injection. Now, a police case has been registered under Section 11(1)(a)(l) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960, as per the law and BNS 325 (Mischief by killing or maiming an animal).Talking to ANI, P. Ranjith Rao, Circle Inspector (CI), Shayampet Police Station, revealed that the case has been filed on the basis of a petition filed by Adulapuram Gautam, Cruelty Prevention Officer at the 'Stray Animal Foundation of India'.In his complaint, Gautam stated that "nearly 300 dogs were killed by and with the cooperation of the Sarpanch, Vice-Sarpanch and with the help of Panchayat secretaries and two others."
