The deputy chief minister of the state, O Panneerselvam said that they will continue to stage protest until the Cauvery Management Board is formed
Engulfed in a series of protests over the set up of the Cauvery Management Board, Tamil Nadu witnessed protest from the ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK parties today.
Following the protest, the state police detained TTV Dhinakaran over his attempt to gherao Trichy airport along with his supporters.
The opposition parties led by DMK stopped a train in Coimbatore demanding the formation of the board.
The deputy chief minister of the state, O Panneerselvam said that they will continue to stage protest until the CauveryManagement Board is formed.
The ruling party AIADMK also organised a statewide hunger strike.
The widespread protests in the state ledto the disruption ofthe Lok Sabha proceedings for the 19th consecutive day.

Theprotest was organised by parties over the government's failure to set up a Cauvery Management Board (CMB) despite the conclusion of a Supreme Court deadline.
The deadline for the central government to set up the Cauvery Management Board was March 29, six weeks from the top court's February 16 order.
Tamil Nadu's demand for the set up of the Cauvery management board came after the apex courtreduced the Tamil Nadu's share of Cauvery water from 177.25 thousand million cubic feet (TMC), less than the 192 TMC allocated by a tribunal in 2007.
