
Condemning the terror attack in Egypt, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said attacks like these are a reminder that terrorism remains the biggest challenge.
Expressing her concern over terrorists attack, the Congress leader called for a sustained response from global communities for attacks like this.
The attack took place in Egypt near the provincial capital of El-Arish during weekly prayers in a mosque when attackers hit the mosque with bombs and fired at people. The death toll rose to 235 while over 125 injured.
Congress president voiced unanimity with the citizens of Egypt and said that it was a vicious act of terror against innocent Egyptians and said that terrorism is a crime against the innocent people of the world for where there can never be a justification.
"This cowardly attack is a stark reminder that the persisting menace of terrorism remains a formidable challenge that calls for a concerted and sustained response from the global community," she said.
