In a new twist in the Pune Porsche crash case, the police are now suspectthat the teen's blood samples were swapped by that of his mother for manipulating the alcohol test report.
The investigation into the case has brought into light some massive irregularities in the medical examination of the 17-year-old teen which was carried out at the state-run Sassoon Hospital.
A three-member committee, led by the dean of Mumbai-based Grants Medical College Dr Pallavi Sapale, has been appointed by Maharashtra Medical Education to investigate the matter.
According to the police officials, in the panel's report it has been found that the blood samples of a woman as well as two elderly men were collected for swapping them with the teen's sample.
Now, the police suspect that the blood sample of the teen's mother was collected as part of the plan, as per local media reports.

The police have been planning to collect samples of a few suspects to get to the bottom of the matter, as per reports.Meanwhile, the police have sought 7-day custody of doctors who were arrested on charges of 'manipulation' of blood samples of juvenile.
They are now searching for the teen's mother after not finding her at home. Earlier, she had appeared in a video message in which she called a viral video, which purportedly featured her son as fake.
She further appealed to the police to "protect" her son and was seen crying on the camera. The teen has been kept at an observation home and his realtor father as well as grandfather have been arrested.

After the police confirm that the sample being investigated is that of the teen's mother, it will mean that another family member was involved in the cover-up attempt.
It has been alleged that the family of the accused tried to pressurise their driver to take the blame for the accident.
In the Pune Porsche car crash case, the juvenile was given bail 15 hours after driving the car at a speed of more than 200km per hour in a drunk state and killing two software engineers on a bike - Ashwini Kostha and Anish Awadhiya - in the early hours of Sunday (May 19).
He was granted bail on several conditionswhichincluded writing a300-word essay on road safety and working with the traffic police for 15 days, which led to a public outcry.
