An 18-year-old man ran toward the U.S. Capitol with a loaded shotgun on Tuesday (February 17) before police arrested him without incident, said U.S. Capitol Police Chief Michael Sullivan.
Photos released by the U.S. Capitol Police show the unidentified man being arrested by officers and the shotgun he used.  The motive of the man, who police said was wearing a tactical vest and tactical gloves, was not immediately known. He also had a Kevlar helmet and a gas mask in his vehicle, police said.
Sullivan said the man arrived in a white Mercedes SUV just after noon and parked near the Capitol, before getting out and running toward the building that houses the U.S. Congress.

While chasing the mother, her car was stopped by police near a highway and Miranda was found unconscious but alive inside the car. She was immediately taken to the hospital but declared dead soon after.

Investigation revealed that the mother, Denise Balbaneda (36) and Miranda’s stepfather Gerald Gonzalez (40), did not seek medical help for the girl during the four days while she was “mentally and physically incapacitated and non-responsive,” said the local officials.&nbsp;

Even after dealing with severe injuries for four days, the couple kept their daughter at home and allegedly fed her smoothies and vitamins even though she wasn’t responsive. They even tried to give her oxygen in an attempt to revive her, officials alleged.

"Basically they thought they could nurse her back to health and we do not think they wanted the attention that this would draw if the little girl was injured," Atascosa County Sheriff David Soward told local media.

12-year-old US girl dies after parents use smoothies to treat 'life-threatening' injuries

In a new twist in the Pune Porsche crash case, the police are now suspect&nbsp;that the teen's blood samples were swapped by that of his mother for manipulating the alcohol test report.&nbsp;

The investigation into the case has brought into light some massive irregularities in the medical examination of the 17-year-old teen which was carried out at the state-run Sassoon Hospital.

A three-member committee, led by the dean of Mumbai-based Grants Medical College Dr Pallavi Sapale, has been appointed by Maharashtra Medical Education to investigate the matter.

According to the police officials, in the panel's report it has been found that the blood samples of a woman as well as two elderly men were collected for swapping them with the teen's sample.&nbsp;

The police have been planning to collect samples of a few suspects to get to the bottom of the matter, as per reports.&nbsp;Meanwhile, the police have sought 7-day custody of doctors who were arrested on charges of 'manipulation' of blood samples of juvenile.

They are now searching for the teen's mother after not finding her at home. Earlier, she had appeared in a video message in which she called a viral video, which purportedly featured her son as fake.&nbsp;

She further appealed to the police to "protect" her son and was seen crying on the camera. The teen has been kept at an observation home and his realtor father as well as grandfather have been arrested.&nbsp;

In subsequent days,&nbsp;the head teacher received death threats on social media platforms, which were sent by the school to an interior ministry hotline.

As per prosecutors, two people were detained after the death threats were investigated.

The identities of the detainees were not revealed, but the education ministry said they had no connection with the school.&nbsp;

Police officials also patrolled around the school premises and Education Minister Nicole Belloubet also paid a visit.

No evidence was found by the officers which proved that the girl was hit by the headteacher and Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also stepped into the issue and said that she would be sued for making false allegations.

Despite interacting with officers over the years, she continued to mislead them, causing the investigation to stagnate. It wasn't until last week that Farias was found at a Houston church, where he had been sleeping.

The discovery came more than eight years after he allegedly vanished on March 6, 2015, while walking his dogs in northwest Houston.

<h2>Current investigation</h2>

Houston Police announced on Thursday that Farias is&nbsp;back home with his mother. However, the district attorney has declined to press charges at this time for making fictitious reports and failure to provide identification.

After Farias was reported missing as a teenager, extensive search efforts were conducted by the Houston police and Texas Equusearch, a civilian search and recovery team.

Despite their efforts, Farias could not be located, although his dogs were eventually found. Over the years, there were several reported sightings of Farias, as indicated by a private investigator hired by his mother shortly after his disappearance.

Canadian teen hits jackpot worth millions on her first ticket purchase

A 16-year-old Pennsylvania boy reportedly admitted through Instagram video chat of murdering a 13-year-old girl. After he was taken into custody, he informed police that "it was an accident," read the criminal complaint. The incident took place in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Police on Friday afternoon was alerted by a girl that she reportedly received a video call and text messages from Joshua Cooper. The girl said that in an Instagram video chat, Cooper told her that he had killed someone. Cooper also sought help from the girl for disposing the body, the complaint said.

When police arrived at Cooper's house in response to the report of the video chat, they observed a young guy sprinting out from the rear of the house who they suspect to be Cooper. Police found the 13-year-old victim inside the home with a "large caliber" gunshot wound to her chest, according to the complaint. The authorities said the girl's family later recognised the victim based on the jewellery she was wearing.

Later, police found and apprehended Cooper. The complaint claims that the suspect was making "unsolicited utterances" as he was being taken into custody. Cooper was saying “sorry” and that he is “going to jail for the rest of his life.” However, Cooper was denied bail on several adult charges which includes criminal homicide. The 16 years old was sent to a juvenile detention centre, according to a police statement, reported CNN.&nbsp;

According to the complaint, Cooper during an interview with detectives reportedly admitted to viewing a Netflix series with the victim in his house. The paper said that the suspect claimed to have been in a previous relationship with the victim. Additionally, according to the complaint, Cooper said that he had accessed his father's safe earlier that day and opened it by replacing the batteries that his father had taken out, rendering the combination lock unoperational. The document stated that he removed, rearranged, and replaced the weapons that were in the safe.

Cooper and his mother reportedly "terminated" the investigators' interview with them before it was finished. According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Cooper's next court date is December 7.
