After Bandipora terror attack, infiltration bid foiled in J&K; 3 terrorists killed

Just hours after terrorists attacked an army camp in Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir(J&K), the Army foiled an infiltration bid in Machhal sector.

Three terrorists were killed during the encounter with security forces. The Army has launched a search operation in the area.

On Tuesday night, terrorists opened fire in Hajin in north Kashmir's Bandipora district.

Troops noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in Macchil sector in Kupwara district and challenged the infiltrators, an Army official told PTI.

Reports said 4-6 terrorists approached the 13 Rashtriya Rifles camp and lauched a grenade attack.

Security forces retaliated "heavily and effectively", a senior police officer said, adding that it was not a suicide attack.

The area has been cordoned off and combing operations have been started, the officer said.
