Kris Jenner’s mom, Mary Jo Shannon, has passed away. The beloved mother of the reality TV star Kris Jenner, and grandmother to billionaires Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner and the rest of the famous Kardashian-Jenner clan, died on Thursday. She was 91.
Known as “MJ” by the entire Kardashian-Jenner family, Shannon was also widely recognised by fans who saw her on the family’s reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and then The Kardashians, which has been running and making headlines for decades. A cause of death was not disclosed.

Kris shared the heartbreaking news of her mother’s passing with a touching tribute on Instagram.
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. 😞💔 There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family.”

Over the years, Shannon made several appearances on the Kardashian-Jenner reality TV show. Despite her age, she remained a crucial part of the show and was often part of the conversation, too.

Soon after Kris announced the death of her mom, Kim penned down an emotional note with a bunch of throwback photos. Calling her grandma, the woman, who taught her, what meant to be a hardworking businesswoman, she wrote,''You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since. You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now. Give Papa Harry, Aunt Karen, and my dad a hug for me. You will always be a part of me, I love you soooooo much and I will miss you forever and ever. 🤍 YOU ARE THE BEST OF US!!!''
