A horrifying saga of domestic abuse finally turned deadly when 28-year-old UK man Nicholas Metson killed his 26-year-old wife Holly Bramley by brutally chopping her body into 224 pieces, media reports said.

The killing took place after thehusband inflicted a series of cruelties on her before ultimately murdering her and disposing of her remains in plastic bags by tossing them into a river.Metson and his friend Hancock will be sentenced on Monday (Apr 8).

The chilling actions carried out by Metson were part of a trial hearing where it was revealed that he had a history of tormenting animals and had previously punished his wife in gruesome ways.

Reports surfaced of Metson putting their puppy in a washing machine and fatally injuring her hamsters by placing them in a food blender. Even after the escalating abuse, Bramley was"controlled" and "manipulated" by her husband and remained in the relationship, according to sources cited by media outlets.

Media reports citing sources recounted Bramley's confessions of Metson's cruelty, one of which was fleeing to a police station with her pet rabbits in a desperate bid to escape him.

The horrific ordeal reached its tragic climax when Metson, in a fit of rage, fatally stabbed Bramley multiple times in their flat. He callously attempted to cover his tracks, and then concocting lies to mislead investigators.

As per reports, he had also searched online for information on benefits he could receive following his wife's death.

The discovery of Bramley's dismembered remains in the River Witham, coupled with damning CCTV footage showing Metson disposing of bags containing her body parts, left no doubt about his guilt.

'Evil monster'

During the trial, Bramley's grieving mother, Annette Bramley, said Metson is an "evil monster" whose actions had inflicted immeasurable pain on their family. Metson was reportedly diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. He pleaded guilty to murder. His accomplice, Joshua Hancock, also pleaded guilty to charges related to the disposal of Bramley's body.
