World bank pledges $6 Bn to Egypt as global support soars

The World Bank has announced a $6 billion support package for Egypt spread over three years. Half of this will go directly to government programs, while the other half aims to bolster the private sector. This follows an expanded $8 billion loan programme approved by the international monetary fund in March.
