What will get China to the table on trade talks with US?

In the latest in the ongoing trade war saga, China says it is open to talks if the US shows it some respect and resolves Beijing's concerns over US sanctions and Taiwan. The other condition China wants to come to the table for trade talks is a more consistent US position. US President Donald Trump had earlier pressed China to make a tariff offer to calm the escalating trade war.
