The US-Iran conflict has taken a dangerous turn as Iran targets Qatar’s key gas infrastructure, triggering massive fires at one of the world’s largest LNG hubs. Missile strikes on Ras Laffan responsible for a significant share of global gas supply have caused extensive damage and disrupted operations.
The attack comes in retaliation to earlier strikes on Iran’s South Pars gas field, the world’s largest natural gas reserve shared with Qatar. As flames engulf critical facilities and exports face disruption, fears of a global energy crisis are rising, with gas and oil prices already surging amid escalating tensions.
