Iranian state media has confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Shortly after the announcement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps declared a sixth wave of missile and drone strikes in retaliation for U.S.-Israeli bombardment. The IRGC said 27 U.S. military bases across the region were targeted, along with Israel’s Tel Nof airbase, the HaKirya military headquarters and a defence industrial complex in Tel Aviv. The Guard vowed a “different and harsh step of revenge,” signalling further escalation.
