TikTok kiss leads to public caning in Indonesia's Aceh province

A viral TikTok video has reignited debate over the enforcement of Islamic law in Indonesia's Aceh province after a couple was sentenced to public caning following a court ruling. Aceh is the only region in Indonesia that formally enforces Sharia law, where punishments can include public lashings for offences such as gambling, adultery and certain moral violations.
