As the worst economic crisis in Sri Lanka continues, doctors have raised an alarm over the death toll in the country. Doctors in Sri Lanka said that the death toll due to economic crisis could be higher than the toll during the coronavirus pandemic. Notably, as of April 12, 2022, over 16,000 people had died due to coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
