Many in the English city of Bristol reacted with dismay on Thursday after a sculpture of a Black Lives Matter protester, which was erected the day before, was pulled down by city authorities. Artist Marc Quinn created the resin and steel likeness of Jen Reid, a protester photographed standing on the plinth after demonstrators pulled down the statue of slave trader Edward Colston and dumped it in Bristol’s harbor on June 7.
