A majority of U.S. Senate Republicans have expressed their support for President Donald Trump’s military campaign against Iran by voting down a bipartisan war powers resolution that would have limited his authority to continue military action without explicit congressional approval. In a 53–47 vote, most Republican senators opposed advancing the measure, effectively backing the president’s ongoing air and naval strikes amid the widening conflict in the Middle East.
