Qatar: British Couple Released After Taliban Detention, Reunites with Daughter
A British couple, Peter Reynolds, 80, and his wife Barbie, 76, have been reunited with their daughter after nearly eight months in Taliban detention. The couple, longtime residents of Afghanistan, were stopped on February 1 but were released Friday morning through Qatari mediation. After arriving in Doha and completing medical checks, they will return to the UK, leaving behind their home in Bamiyan province.
