Pete Hegseth had no knowledge of actions taken by his financial broker related to a reported attempt to invest in a defense-focused fund before the Iran conflict, the Pentagon has said. Officials rejected the claims as “false and fabricated,” stressing that neither Hegseth nor his representatives approached the investment firm and calling for a retraction of the report.
