Pakistan, Malaysia Strengthen Security Cooperation With Intelligence Sharing & Counterterrorism Push

Pakistan and Malaysia are set to deepen bilateral security cooperation following high-level talks in Islamabad, with both countries agreeing to strengthen intelligence sharing and joint efforts against terrorism, drug trafficking and human smuggling. The agreement was reached during discussions between Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Malaysia's Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, followed by delegation-level talks. The two sides agreed to expand police training and explore greater cooperation between their coast guard services. Economic relations were also discussed, including trade, investment, food security, market access and stronger connections between business communities. The talks also covered tourism and employment, with Pakistan seeking a higher work quota in Malaysia. Both sides discussed easier visa arrangements to promote travel and people-to-people contacts.
