Dozens of fighters were killed in overnight clashes along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on Sunday. The fighting marks the deadliest border conflict since the Taliban took power in Kabul. Tensions rose after Islamabad demanded Taliban action against militants striking Pakistan
Afghanistan’s defence ministry claimed its troops killed 58 Pakistani soldiers in retaliation. Pakistan accuses these groups of operating from safe havens inside Afghanistan. Both sides have blamed each other for escalating attacks in recent weeks. The Taliban spokesman: Afghanistan 'will not leave any aggression unanswered.
