Nearly 15,000 nurses have walked out at some of New York City’s biggest hospitals, including Mount Sinai, Montefiore and NewYork Presbyterian, in one of the largest healthcare strikes in decades. The nurses are demanding safer staffing levels, higher pay and better security as state authorities warn the strike could threaten patient care across the city.
