MEA's Big Clarification: Passport Doesn't Automatically Prove Citizenship

India's passport network continues to expand, making passport services more accessible across the country.
Amid the expansion, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) clarified that a passport is not conclusive proof of citizenship.
Officials stressed that citizenship is determined under the provisions of Indian law and supporting records.
