Japan's net external assets reached a record high of 3 trillion dollars in 2023. This marks the sixth consecutive year of increase, driven by a weak Yen and significant overseas corporate acquisitions. As a result, Japan retains its position as the world's largest creditor, outpacing Germany & China.
